That was it for the USD Bulls, now full speed ahead to 2.0200, long from 2.0093. FYI 2.0088 was initial support

I wouldn't worry too much about the cable.

GBPUSD:
- Down less than 100 pips from the record high yesterday
- Didn't even mess with the lows of monday (-3 days)
- Is in an uptrend, the trend was not broken

GBP:
- Newsflow today was positive or neutral if we adjust for expectations

USD:
- The dollar is dead. Just believe me, it still has a long way to go DOWN
- Newsflow today was positive, and surprised the market.

However, I am worried about the NFP tomorrow. But the market should be expecting good numbers now, so some of the risk for us cable bulls might have been eliminated today.

well, I think I'll wait and park my long truck at 2.000000. NFP shall bring cable town to 2K level, then we will charge full power back to 2.02

What do you say?

How come GBP is no longer attractive ? They did put up interest rates - that is all that has changed since yesterday really - so why were they attractive yesterday but not now...? Did anyone really expect 0.5 % ? I am not arguing for GBP as I sold a wodge of em today, but I don't see why there would be a change of sentiment... the end of the trend ? why ?

USDCHF is now shaping up another failure. Failed the breakout down, now it's failing to break to the upside....

We may have seen a dollar spasm. you know, post-4th of July patriotic frenzy when NYC started.

I would definately buy some if that happens (USDGBP goes down to 2 and support holds). But I'll just stick with my long position for now and see what happens tomorrow.

I agree that GBP/USD has a future - but what about it's link with the euro ? ok not link but correlation ? Can the euro be weak against the dollar and hold cable back ?

One can only hope that the numbers are positive for the Dollar tomorrow pushing the price to the magical 2.0000 level. Then ride the long trip back to 2.0200 But we cannot ignore three things...

1. daily chart shows that the uptrend has NOT been broken.
2. on the other hand, daily chart is showing a major divergence from the april 18th high.
3. The GBPUSD created the most wonderful head and shoulders this morning signaling a possible reversal.
