It seems that there is not yet a strong bullish momentum in GBP/USD. USD still appears strong above the 20-day mark.

I shorted EU around these levels yesterday, like at 1.0720s and it was going good, priced went down to 1.0677 but somehow it reversed out of the blue again and my positive SL got hit. Pretty much had the same issue with GU too. Whenever USD gains some momentum, BoJ comes up.

I think BoJ realised that market is figured them out. So now they are intervening more frequently but in smaller quantities so they make it seem like a natural move. So they try to convince the market to sell USD with them. Which is why we saw EU, GU returning to yesterday's highs and UJ at yesterday's lowest lows again. I think this move is manufactured rather than a natural occurance.

I would love to long USD from here against EU and GU but like i said whenever news play into my hands and USD gains a bullish momentum, BoJ comes up. They look stubborn & willing to burn crazy amounts of money this time. And they want us to think that way.

As a dollar bull, i am not going to mess with a central bank since i don't know how crazy they can go. So i will be staying in the sidelines until the NFP. After NFP, i think it will be safer to get in again.

Or they will intervene again after NFP. Like they did after China PMIs and after FOMC. That's also a possibility. We don't know how stubborn and mad these guys are, so it's better to keep our positions smaller during this time.

hi my friend thank you for the detail response and analysis . I am wondering what drives you to be bullish on mr USD? The fed meeting was a bit dovish But tomorrow we have big report so might change the picture and we could see usd fly . I would wait for tomorrow report but I really like gold price action so going long and going to build more longs if we tank . Good luck my friend cheers
