Whether or not Momentum Waves could be considered as true Elliott Waves is not important. We just accept that they are not and use them for what they are very good at doing: identifying the current state and the probable termination point of a swing. The most important single concept about the Elliott Oscillator [any oscillator, momentum indicator] is that the highest/lowest point of the Oscillator is connected to the bullish/bearish Wave 3 of the swing.

Market probably priced in 18% traders that were net Long on USD/JPY and 82% net Short hahahah.

152 had to give in and they made it happen by lowering the forecast from 3.5% to 3.4%, so they actually have "a reason" to push USD high. If you ask me they have intentionally lowered forecast, because majority was Short USD, so they can collect their money.

But, that's just crazy me talking... I'm sure MSM will give a good reason why USD went up so much yesterday as they always do. This is why I think news mean nothing at all in FX. If TA suggests Long or Short, TA is almost always right if one can figure out what TA is trying to say.

Agree completely. The "news" nearly always shows up in the TA first (if you know what to look for and have the patience to wait for price to come to you).

speaking about news in terms of data like we had yesterday, yes I agree, it’s sometimes just (maybe manipulated) numbers.
my concern is about such a steep and quick down move in cable blowing 200 pips for just a 0.1% cpi.
and more… cpi rising while today PPI got even lower than forecasts, with oil rising in last month approx a 15%
It’s a total madness and looks to me they found their way with this inflation shit: one can easily manipulate it. I mean, easier than GDP (for example).
