GBP is going down and the US dollar is going up.
Reasons for this.
First, there's on going genocide in the Middle East, which makes investors nervous and want to buy safe-haven currencies like the US dollar.
Second, the FED, might wait longer to cut interest rates because the US economy seems strong.
This makes the US dollar more attractive to investors.

On the other hand, the BoE, might cut interest rates sooner because inflation in Britain is expected to slow down.
This makes the GBP less attractive to investors.

Just my guess.

When Tokyo says it might do something about the currency, it's worth looking at how they've talked before taking action in the past.
Thanks is the pullback, as in case some traders reducing their risk,

In Japan, the government decides if they'll do something, but the central bank carries it out.
They're very careful about how fast the currency is changing because sudden changes can mess up the economy.

So, if the yen starts dropping really fast, like it did in 2022, Japan might step in.
But if it's just slowly losing value, they might not do anything.
Before they actually step in, Japanese officials usually start by warning people that they might do something.
They do this to scare off people who are betting the currency will fall even more.
This warning process has a few unofficial steps.

That was only my newbie view.

FOMC Member Barkin is ready to comment on NFP numbers somewhat after the release. They always assign at least one Fed member to comment the important data like NFP, CPI, PCE...
