there are both oil but a barrel of oil has been more volatile since that date, it would be something to do with refining costs

It has to do with the source of the oil and grade of the oil which also reflects the gasoline (or ability to derive gas from the oil) content in the oil.

In LiteForex GBPUSD spread went down to 1.2510. Anyone else had this problem? I dont see same pattern in other accounts.

The refining process looks energy-hungry to me I'm doubting they use oil to do it these days, I don't know how those furnaces work.
That might have created the larger price spread.

GBPUSD price action on the daily time frame is bearish but presently tackling the 1.26000 intra-day horizontal support. This is above the 1.25310 long-term horizontal support, which has been in place since December 13, 2023. A significant breakdown of the 1.25310 horizontal support on a daily closing basis would initially target the 1.23800 horizontal support and may, in the medium-term, expose the 1.20800 handle (green).

I may be wrong. Trade safe and prosper.
