Because it's loads easier to pack everything in the car, beach umbrella, sun shelter, eski cooler with food/drink, beach chairs, body boards, towels, sun screen galore, hats, humans and just drive onto it. Pick a spot that is less populated if possible and set up for a long session. We live right on the beach (100m walk) but STILL take the car down sometimes, especially if the wave sets are looking sharp and body boards needed. Most of the year it's pretty much deserted, but when it's hot, all the city ppl invade the place as well as the locals.

We all expect and want NFP to lift the USD, but it just might not happen. It would create a balance of some sort true and Friday is known as a retracement day so... and GU has been only going up for the last four days in this week. We all expected some big moves this week, so you can see how this shit talk and "expectation of what should happen" can screw you! When trading, technical analysis is everything. Fundamental analysis, boogeyman stories and wishful thinking is harmful and useless and this week is a PERFECT example of that!
Friday isn't known as retracement day at all, but NFP is known as WTF day.
