The values on your chart appear to be DXY and not Dollar Index...
The label is clearly dollar index.

Pat, there is one problem on the daily chart, the price is above the upper band of the flag formation. I would wait with shorting until it gets below.

Yours is DXY.

I use the DJIA Dollar Index because I trade in stocks and indexes.
So, by using the DJIA Dollar index, I get a more accurate idea of how my trades are doing.
The DXY index doesn't rely heavily on the British Pound, but it does rely on the Euro in its component.

Keep an eye on the Kiwi $ - canary in the mine (particularly for the indices). And EURNZD currently on 61.8 fib retrace.

Market will often load up NZD and AUD ahead of volatile events, then dump it in favour of higher value currencies, like EUR and GBP.
