Hi All, Over 50 pips drop (GBP/JPY). Waiting for a reversal. 190.25 and weekly pivot looks very appealing. *reversed - 25 odd pips but i missed the train. Just didn't look an A+ setup to me. Also take a look at AUD/USD, quite similar??
The AUD/USD is quite different in nature when compared to GBP/JPY and it is a lot slower in my opinion BUT as Timetells mentioned..station to station..it did take the path of like GBP/JPY.

Hi Kevin,
Just thought I would post this oil chart I was messing about with because we spoke about oil a while ago.
Seems a good option and alternative to indicies lately. I will pay more attention to this commodity especially now that I may be focusing on UK afternoon/US open for a while.

Certainly a potential zone, however, there is a daily zone just above. Let's see how PA plays out.

Yes for our eyes only...I did not enter any trade cos only confluence was RN but not Time. I mostly trade first 2 hours of any session. It could have worked for 5 pips or so, quick in quick out. I am sure Timetells must have been on it..lol. Could still work though.

it did not give me any entry yet from my TF perspective. However, I shorted UJ, and waiting for EJ and GJ to lead me.

Finally sussed they are three pushes down or up
Do you put a fair bit of weight in them?

Watching gbpjpy now and it looks like a small stop hunt below asian range but maybe only two pushes down on the 15min

my interest... BUt i would not enter a trade solely on that... I will try and pop some charts up and explain a bit further for ya.

Strangely enough hahaa I only traded the GU yesterday, just once in Asia then a long break lol doing alternative stuff to trading then, till back for the pre-Franky / London open session for another 2 quick trades for +16p on the day.

The GU itself was caught up pre NY in a tight 13 pip range above the .250 RN and below the Month PP at .382 at the time, and it was inside that 13 pip range that i took my 16p profit (trading WITH the market, not as reversal).

I do not have set rules, so my trades are not really understood I guess (entries I mean) even if posted, as it is all discretionary with me based on my own 'personal training' over the years following george's excellent advice regarding the market and 'targets'.

To do this I used a Trade Simulator that I can set as tick by tick on a TF of choice (TF not changeable in between unfortunately but i got used to that) so I was always watching the market move in real time (with delta) to see what the market does with targets when they are at a distance, are approaching or then landing on the targets., ie what comes next.

The Simulator does NOT paint just each single candle BY candle, it shows the delta moves in between the start AND finish of all candles by tick movement from your own broker feed (so I use a different and more 'accurate imho' live broker feed for my template while i use another live broker to actually trade with as that method works best for me I have found.

The first "live action" Simulator I used was called "training2.exe" and can be found on the well known external Mql platform for free.

The simulator I prefer now was developed by a FF member called "The Original Stategy Tester v6xxx .exe",
where you can search on FF & try it on just ONE pair for free, forever, or pay a modest amount for the full pair usage package.
I have no link or involvement with either simulator in any way.

So I only mention what I do rather than what you as a trader should or might do,
each to the own as they/we learn & balance their/our own education in trading currencies or indices etc.

It's a minefield out there, always is when trading or gambling money is on the the line. Sharks abound, so be careful.


Anyway, back to my old staple GBPJPY.
Day by day, station to station
(ie trader attractors, and I am NOT a pivot trader but I like to see where those traders & others might enter OR exit to see what the market does AFTERwards)
(can trade TO the attractors as well, but where & why ? well the simulator helped me in that watching it tick by tick and at what TIME/SESSION it proved worthwhile)

Now, let's say that price doesn't have a predetermined path, but it just a consequence of something else. Consequence of what?
Perhaps of volume? I don't think so... see, these patterns prove there is an order in all of this disorder.

Everything is a pattern... from human behaviour to price action... aha! Is price action a consequence of human behaviour?
If it is, that's great! Human behaviour is almost always the same, almost the same. Patterns are almost always the same, almost the same.

Predict the pattern and you'll see the future.

I'd like to just add that patterns may just be an anomaly that we're making sense of.
Okay that's for patterns.

Now, what I really think is going on is that there is no supply and demand or whatever it's called... it's algorithm. What is actually really interesting about this is that this algorithm moves the price precisely where it needs to and somehow on top of that manages to manipulate every TF to its perfection (closing candles exactly where it needs to). This is what I think is the case after trading for 3 years now. It's hard not to notice how precise this thing is EVEN on the news data like for example NFP or CPI. Even on this news data the algorithm hits exactly where it needs to if price is about to reverse.

*Important candles will open and close perfectly, but only important ones.

You seem to be on the right path, but if I may be so bold as to suggest (just from my own experiences & thoughts on this subject) maybe missing just a few of the subtleties of the market operations.



I agree that the market is always going ‘somewhere’ (to a target imho).

Where traders get flummoxed imo is the “path in between” which drives many traders (and the industry in some circumstances lol) to determine it must all be just random.

The key to understanding the full process I believe is the “aggregation” of all the trades (I mean retail in this instance) as the aggregation must take place (again imo) as else WHO is taking the opposite side to all our (winning lol) trades.

When that aggregation is considered in its fullness then the subsequent rotational aspect of market movement (including the larger Bermuda Triangle moves), and certainly mostly when outside the major session opens when there was a prior influx of prime trades in the real interbank market is best seen.


However, market is random =NO. Also a direct move straight to the target = NO

After that, each trader will need to work out their own best method for trading the ups & downs (and even the tight ranges).

Just some thoughts.

Price (or the illusion of price) is a closely guarded, closely controlled pre-programmed algorithm which has but one intention and that is to convince people to gambl.. err participate in a particular controlled misdirection.

It achieves this in the most efficient way possible, and we see this as patterns on the chart.

Ask one self why different combinations of currency pairings show similar patterns, the difference only in the magnitude.

By changing the magnitude and timing between different pairs gives the illusion of a real market.

Can I prove this nope, but then would someone show me two different markets that do not show the same moves as on other pairs or indeed with just other time frames.

Same repeatable pattern, fractal, very very difficult to trade, but if it’s not an Algorithm, then the coincidence is ….,,

A complex topic for us average ones and my only post on it.

The fx market is fragmented. There is the settlement algorithm CLS.
There are forwards, swaps, spot etc... International business using currencies traded off one another and long-term agendas etc. Norwegian pension fund (will they defend a level? perhaps.) etc... Commercials vs speculators etc. Electronic day traders in video game contexts or real prime of prime liquidity controlled contexts etc...
With respect to multiple algorithms (tracker, sweeping and shortfall algorithms) the trade-off is market risk vs market impact.

I cannot see how one (1) algorithm can carry-out all of the fragmented parts of the FX market being multiple trillions in size. If it is CLS for settlement? ok understood. The elite have made money from taxation and the petro dollar system. wars etc... which is the order, not from fleecing retail traders directly.

Pattern recognition is easy for human nature, it's what we do. Mixed with some education from the right sources perhaps there are opportunities.

The thing is... when someone creates a system which very efficiently predicts price movements, then it's hard for algo to escape or produce any move that would baffle us, because we saw it coming. If one doesn't have a great system in work, then understanding what we here are talking about will be hard or perhaps even outright impossible.

I'll just say it's nearly impossible this is some random buying and selling... there is NO WAY this is the case, otherwise I don't know if one would be able to make money in FX... maybe? I think the charts would look like shit (price action)...

*One more thing! Can I see the future?? No, I can't! However, if algo feeds the system with enough data, then I can make a good guess of where the price is heading next. One of the most important things to look at is where the candles are closed.

If price movement was random, then nothing would work and yet... it does. So, price movement isn't random.

However genius this thing is, it also has its fault, otherwise we would never be able to see the near future.
hello there, im just wondering if anyone can help me with MacBook for metatrader 4. I have a MacBook and mt 4 loaded on it, but suddenly the data window and the terminal, also the market area isnt next to the chart but it opens separately in front of the chart as a whole window, which means I can't drag and drop indicators or expert advisors directly on the chart coz they aren't next to each other anymore, I want it next to the chart as usual does anyone have any idea what to do thanks
