Maybe this would help with some clarity.

AUDUSD Indexes on the D1 chart

USD rejecting support (making HH-HL)+Trendline confluence.
AUD rejecting resistance.

Reason why the pair has been ranging as you can see is because of the dojis at these levels. One rejecting support and the other rejecting resistance. At the same time anything could happen i.e. USD down and AUD up or vise versa.

So somesort of price inaction i.e. consolidation (AUDSUD H4/M30) for now until either one indexes breakouts or bounces off thus revealing price action on the pair.

So waiting on market play for more clearer direction. (but I see an ascending triangle pattern within the consolidation too, hmm).

Just completed reading thread to this point. A little confusion as to starting time of US 1.5 hr. I have seen 16:30 and 15:30, 9:30 and 8:30 EST. Major news usually at 8:30, Stock market opens at 9:30. Thanks. Will try and post some trade ideas/trades this week.

nyse open
monitor one of them or all 3.

if there are red news like cpi etc, then it's obvious this is the time to monitor all the way to nyse open.

Sharing a nice GBP/USD catch during the London session. Had a few faults during the past few days, but this +7R fixed them.

Hey Rob, Is trading during the first 1.5 hours of a session mandatory? I am missing out on a lot of trade opportunities, which is why I am asking this question.

Most should follow the rules as much as possible. That being said, there are examples where the rules are bent. You may refer to post #826, where rob took a trade before market open.

Coincidentally, I took a gold short today after the 90 minute mark during the london session. This was my first time breaking the rules, so I feel rule-breaks / bends should be few and far in between your regular trades. Additionally, rule breaks should still follow all system rules in terms of your HTF -> LTF analysis and entry criteria.

P.S: Before you look at breaking rules, may I suggest you increase the number of pairs you are scanning for trades. Ideally you should have about 6 - 9 pairs to look at during your most active session(s). It should be easier for you to identify setups on a variety of pairs rather than looking at a few and having to overfit the system with rule breaks. It should be treated as a last resort, and should only be experimented with only when you have good mastery of the system.

To prevent forming of bad habits (i.e tendency to break rules increases, once you have broken rules a few times. -> If I can break this rule, I can break other rules, etc). Again do so at your own risk.

Is up to you.

To make money we need market to move. Bigger the moves bigger the profits we can make.
And biggest moves we have when markets opens.

Stats for NAS100 by 30m.

Expanded my "watch list" to GBPUSD and USDJPY

Didn't see much on USDJPY or EURUSD with 30 mins TF. On review, there might have been opportunities using 15min for EURUSD.

I found a trade on GBPUSd for 1R return after being stopped out, I thought I saw signs for a longer run so move SL up.

Didn't take the trade Evaldas321 took (great work) as was waiting for a retest but on reflection, should have looked further back to see it was R flipping to S and had been tested already. Should have acted on the bearish rejection.

Are 7 (or 4 pips I think I saw Rob use on diff currency pair) used constantly or is there a more dynamic view?
