On this H6 chart, using the D1, I marked the 2 horizontal S/R lines. It is quite clear that the reistance is being held. But it is not clear which direcction price will move away from it. However, I am biased for it to fall. If it does fall, then I expect price to find its way to the support at 1.2531.

If price decides to move up instead, then I see the next D1 resistance at 1.2675 that price would work up to.

But MACD already has a built-in trend detector for the TF you have it on: When the MACD line is above 0, bullish; when below 0, bearish. The slope of the MACD line helps determine if there is a retracement underway or not.

So far so good for the H4 short but will need to wait for the H4 close to confirm, hopefully the stop will be reasonable and being an H4 trade will travel down a good amount.
