I don't see it in limbo at all. Clearly in a down trend as you said. The upswing to the left of the right-most white line
along with the mess after that is only a rally. It remains a rally unless price can manage to close above the swing high that is at about 1.4250.

so based on that information would you say it is best to go downtrend or would you say uptrend? I'm downtrend but us dollar isn't as strong as it wants to let on plus looming rate cuts

Gold = small lot, and either HUGE (not just big) or very tight SL: You will have to be able to have a 500 pips SL.
