Why should the BOE be dovish? Inflation is still higher in the UK, the UK spending is still out of control with no end in sight. The only way to defend the pound is to keep rates where they are.

true however there is a lot of pressure to reduce the rates here. Mortgages are shooting up as fixed term deals ending. Also it’s election year so pressure from government too

why would anyone take a adjustable rate mortgage...usa has em but i dont think anyone uses em

In the UK there are fixed mortgages but it usually lasts between 2 -5 years unlike in the US where you can get same mortgage fixed for 30 years.

so thats just like our adjustable mortgages...they reset every 2 to 5 years ....why dont brits just call em ajustable cause thats screwed up having to refinance a fixed rate every 2 years.

im glad we revolted against king george or we might be in this kind of pickle

so when you brits hyave to keep refinancing every 2 to 5 years are there new points and origination and closing and paperwork fees each time cause that would seem you just keep going backwards if those fees get added on to the new mortgage?
