rofl i would rather say: too many players on the wrong side, but low volatily isn't related to that, i have no idea why volatily dropped like this on cable, I don't know if it's definitive or if it will follow the old trading markets saying: the lower the volatility in present times, the higher it will be in the near future...

As one crap trend line drawer to a master trend line drawer. Could you tell me in your own humble opinion, whether you think that yesterday's move was a real breakout attempt simply awaiting a bit of momentum from some source or other, or a false one whose downward direction is being hampered by Japanese housewives?

Few months ago my Average Daily Range indicator (set at period = 1 month worth of data) for cable showed a 121 pips avg daily range. Today, it's sitting at 88 (!)...

GBPJPY has dropped from 195 pips to 145 pips as of today.

GBPCHF from 145 to 109 as of today.

USDJPY from 90 to 59 (!) as of today.

EURUSD from 88 to 60 as of today.

USDCHF from 98 to 60 (!) as of today

if someone could know which breakouts are real and which ones are false one would be rich

that's why i don't pay attention to trend lines, look at bravado's chart, it sure looks like a breakout but what if it comes down to the lower line of the channel? After the fact you just redraw the trendline but in real time you noticed a breakout! what if it goes a little lower and then breaks up hard' what if what if what if

too many things can happen, we must play with odds and trendlines just don't give me solid odds, they look good when you look at past... but you re not trading the past...

I'm sorry, I was just being a tad silly. No in depth analysis required really. Anyway, I think it's probably the Germans myself....
