Roadmap - A Way To Read Markets

Dax again. Drew in levels prior to 8am. Can see from levels that I missed a nice short between 7 to 8am ( see heart sign noting level and proximity of Roadmap but I focus on 8am onwards for trades and levels are drawn prior to 8am.
First short thinking target at bottom of 7 to 8am box was possible = fail. Second short, backed up by prior level ( heart sign) worked out down to 75 brn and consolidated into a triangle so got out. ( No long from triangle breakout because price moved to fast for me).
I may have missed other trades but thats all I saw.
Third short price broke bottom of box and brn and hit brn 475 which was a 15 minute level drawn prior to 8am

Third trade (Long) was a loser because price reversed sharply on red bar. Other trades made a reasonable session.

Thanks for all you share here. I use the rocky method but I have added important elements of Laura's roadmap to it.

Just to show that every day is NOT a massive day. I had two losing shorts, and a winning long taken after a rising low. but with danger lurking overhead with 200ma and a previous high, and got took out for a little profit around 10am after red candle broke other side of channel. I was too nervous to risk losing what little gain I had.

At least Somebody show the other side of speculating! It s NOT just wins. It is a complex thing. One of it, is the ability to continue...., too.

Market is still slow, but its moving. Two trades today, first EU, entry wasn't perfect, but entered right after I turned laptop on, exited at the ADR high.

Second trade GU, similar entry as with EU, exited at the yesterday high.

Hi there,

Glad to read that you are enjoying this trading approach and thank you for registering to say so.

I understand that it's challenging to visit a thread that was once full of activity and is now less so, and where the OP isn't contributing. But a joy of the internet and of a forum is that something shared is there for, in theory, forever. Future consumption will take place and people will find value or they will not.

I've made a couple of half-hearted attempts to return but the truth is that the time and energy required to be fully active again here would offer diminishing returns. Most of what I've wanted to share has already been shared (either here or in my Journal). I could go deeper, or I could share other approaches, but I feel like I've played my part and my focus is now better served around my own trading and other aspects of my life.

I might occasionally publish new content via the Journal and there might come a day where I want to be more active here again, but no promises.

To all Roadmap traders, Daylight traders, those who don't post publicly but send me private messages to share successes they have had as a result of the content - or simply people I've been fortunate enough to connect with during the journey, thank you.

Nice to see you here Laura ! And it just dawned on me I didnt really trade oil with any frequency until
the start of your thread...and just looked almost 4 yrs ago.. Time flies.

Its probably 85% of all I ever trade now on a daily basis...IT was the SPX but last 2 yrs predominantly Oil.
Thanks for turning me on to the Oil market ! absolutely love it lol...

Anyhow might as well toss up a few charts. They speak for themselves for others that see them.
Just basic Roadmap with some timing and structure etc... Nothing fancy.

Hello,

I'm really not sure, sorry. I didn't code it so I can't be much help with its operation. However, the markets to focus on should already be jumping out at you based on the colours. In the majority of cases it will be a pretty safe bet that those markets showing such a heavy bias will also have an RSI reading that aligns.

Hi Kevin - nice to hear from you and I hope you're doing well.

Yes, oil plays very nicely with the channel if you get the timeframe right for the current level of volatility. Once you have a secondary method of finding the right confluences and avoiding excessive periods of chop, you're golden. I know you will already have plenty of options you can call upon when it comes to filtering.
