Roadmap - A Way To Read Markets

Roadmap takes price through the 50% line (Squirrel) - thanks Kevin -through open line and previous high for a nice long.
Price turns over breaks Roadmap and previous High for a nice short, then drifts near bottom of box. Got out and done for now

SP500 dropped away at 1:30pm but after 2:30pm it bounced off previous low for a Roadmap Long. Then under the 200ma and under the 75 level we had a Roadmap short. I am calling it a day rather than wait to the end of my usual 2 hour slot. Not everyday is so trendy/bendy so I am grateful.

Last one for now since few seem to pass this way and the posts are rather repetitive.
"X" marks the spots where I might have avoided crashing into pre drawn levels but I ofter adopt tunnel vision, at times, and miss the warning to watch out at these levels - at least the roadmap channel stopped me doing serious damage. But , overall, a profitable session.

I am a second job speculator (retired, 2x, and I am still here... : ), so, most of them would have called Me a position trader, but this is one of my favorite thread! THX for the simple common sense I experience here! Have nice Time Turnip!

Depends on what your looking at... Oil has put out exceptional trades this week as the Dax has too..

Might be worth adding to your watchlist if not on their already

I keep looking at oil and gold and not having much joy with those assets. I will continue checking them out.
Watch Yen, what it did under 2 min ... So trade on 1M charts...

What's your criteria for exit? Entries I think i've understood. I'm testing with a 1:2 risk/reward ratio based on last low/high as the SL but sometimes it hurts the heart to see my exits end so early and the trend continues and wouldn't have hit my SL.

In this trading scenario, strategy of entering long positions when the price surpasses the 50% line (Squirrel) and previous high, following the 'Roadmap,' reflects a trend-following approach. Conversely, the decision to initiate short positions after a reversal, breaking both the 'Roadmap' and the previous high, demonstrates adaptability to changing market conditions. Do I understand correctly ?

hayseed, thank you very much for sharing your observations. In fact, having the opportunity to observe the Price vs the Envelope, and the Envelope vs 200 SMA in addition to RSI composite and Price vs 200 SMA, in just one indicator, definitively helps.

Here is a Dax long and short DEMO trade on Dax I did as. a warm up.
Not marked an earlier short where price broke below channel on way up - can you spot it? Price bounced off 16900 BRN ( within a few pips) to reject my premature short. I should have noted that BRN earlier - hence a few warm up demos before next week.
Will resume trades next week.

And here is a trickier Dax trade due to early volatility which one must learn to watch and wait for it to subside. I had two shorts - one failed( in too early) and one worked
Patience and follow the roadmap.

Last demo for the week until back into the fray next week. Tougher session today.
The dax. First two trades I lost because I pulled out too early. My stop is usually the low of the bar closing outside the channel. Last two trades were okay.
So fear still there evem in Demo and in reality one needs to take small profits to get paid for your effort ( even in demo) and do what I do in reality which is to dip in and out and not let entry come all the way back to cancel your trade. Easier said than done but works more often than not and depends on the individual. Meaning you find your own approach after learning the basic Roadmap approach. Mine will always be different to yours.

My trading style is very similar to this. one extra thing I do is use pivot points. I mostly trade in 30mins and 1 hr. so pivot point helps me a lot

Cope with fear technics: - take partial profit, and let Your SL unmoved, making a "synthetic free trade". You can add to this free trade, and do it again...
- take full profit, step back in retrace (if there any) don t risk on it more than Your win was on the 1st trade
- think in series in trading. One loss, IF YOU DID EVERYTHING properly, is NOT a loss, it is COST. You must KNOW, You will win in the war. Not all the battles, but the war. If You don t KNOW it, cut Your size, practise more, learn how to get in to the ZONE.

Very true.
Here is the line up of trades until 10am. Price bounced along in a range off the top of my "Kevin" Box ( 7am to 8am)- this was one of those sessions where you have to be alert, very alert, to pullbacks, levels, trade in steps, look left at pre drawn levels and draw in more levels as you trade into the session etc.
Instructive session for me.
