what you say makes sense... Because the last two days although US had really good datas, the dollar barely went up a bit and than came back to where it was before the news were released... However I am aiming for june 8th low of 1.9620 if the news are very good for US. Though I doubt right now that it will brake that level. Probably will go back to high 1.9700s perhaps. I cant count on the downtrend of cable lately...
The economic data for the past week seems to be positive for both the pound and the dollar, but a little more positive for the dollar. Only UK CPI and Average Earnings came in negative. All dollar data has been positive. So assuming that dollar's Friday data comes in dollar positive, I think we should see dollar strength. How does everyone feel about this?

Pack of news... The risk is all of them coming out mixed. One positive the other negative....

I am wating downtrend, but if it break 1.9735 we will see cable uptred.

so there wont be much market affect you say? Empire State Business Conditions Index was pretty good though...

The news that came out just now are pretty much US positive, even though not all all in sync. Why are we seeing GBP going up then?

Take a look at S&P and DOW Jones futures - they have shot up on reaction to the news. This means traders are seeing a no change of stance from FED. ie no rate hike for foreseeable future as inflation has moderated. This is good for stocks.

I think this will be bearish news for $ so far

However more news out soon!

Current Account Data beeing revised! Throwing a more negative light (Downtrend) on the US economy and trade affairs.

I think everyone was expecting some extraodinary data to short cable and with data mixed up and pretty much on prediction that was already priced in, we are seeing buying that everyone was ready to do in the last three days in light of future BOE interest rate hikes.

But again, I don't think it will be a directional move, but placing buys or seels in this state of the market is very risky for me. I will wait for another data pack realease but I am ready to call it a week.

Just on CNBC TV channel - They have price tickers on the screen at all times. Also gives 10 year notes as well.

Bloomberg no doubt will have the same

S&P Fut - up 9.5
DJ Fut - up 72

EUR/USD looking very bullish so far

lol the market still did not get my stop loss at 1.9743...
few more pips to go. Would be a miracle if the cable turns back from there.
