Why on earth would an investor buy a company? Because it is making earnings and sales! Why would an investor buy a currency? They don't!!!! They only hedge it. This is why most traders lose. It is not them, it is the wrong market they are in.

6% or less of non-financial people are trading forex. All the rules about retail liquidity versus smart money are meaningless. Institutions are really trading against each other. They do not care about your liquidity. The only person that needs your liquidity is your broker. Big smart money (institutions) are not saying they need you, it is more like, "Get out my way little fish!"

If you use US accounts, then you cannot. If you go offshore, then you can.

I am not sure it is allowable to post on here. But on Babypips there is a post called "Going Offshore to Escape the CFTC". And, if you do a careful search, you will eventually find many brokers that quietly accept US citizens.

The only regulated broker that accepts US citizens is Oanda. That is the only option in the USA.

I wanted truce but the road to that is like an abyss. I walked, got dragged back by some monsoon winds, jumped on a stranger van for a free ride. Here I am now, I see no truce in sight!

In my 'previous life', I had to work with a lot of US Citizens overseas with non-US and US banks. The detail is that the foreign banks have to agree to let the US tax man audit their records. Some refuse. Many of the bigger ones allow it.

Not sure if it is legal to say. Prop firm is an option, though. There are others.
