Continuation...watching GBP/JPY closely for reversal...no entry so far..
Been 20+ years since I read this book...after I blew up my futures account...haha
Guess I should have read this page more closely.

Hi All,
Had to wait till US session to get a reversal. It was worth the wait. 29 pips for the effort. So much manipulation trying to suck in buyers and sellers. Again its all about patience. If you don't see a clear direction, don't enter. I am a reversal trader so have to be very sure about market turns. The most important again was RN & Time. Manually closed at the DOL. No matter how strong a trend is, it has to breathe, reload and decide again. We can call it profit taking, manipulation, trend change or whatever. It may just be a small turn. May just be a very small reversal depending on the time frame but that is where we can gain some pips. We just have to take into consideration the time frame we are trading and the average pips for reversals on the specific time frame. For me trading the GBP/JPY, i am happy to take 10 to 20 pips when trading 15 minute time frames. Happy for even less. No matter what big players will show their hands. Thats where we have to be ready. Like yesterday i started watching from FO and the setup showed up 1hr45 mins into US session. The price was just in a 25 pips range for around 4 hours. Just had to wait and watch. The 8.30 US time, 15 mins candle kind of engulfed the prior 16 candles yet no structure break so waited another 15 minutes. Rejection of the 187.250 and 187.5 RNs got me interested. 187.750 was used and abused a few times if u look left so i was confident that it won't hold the upward move for too long. The target was DOL. These setups are there 3 out 5 days at around 90% of the time. I kind of showed it earlier in my posts. Either London or US session. First 2 or 3 hours after or within session opens. Low or high of the session is set most of the time. It is at specific times and mostly around RNs. Other confluences like Open lines, daily, weekly, monthly Hs & Ls, pivots are very important. Its what big players may use to set targets. The key is to be patient. I totally understand that during live sessions its very hard but try to wait for candles to close and mark your trading zones, targets before hand. If price leaves you with massive candle and gets too close to the target just take it in ur stride cos u can't win em all. It will be frustrating but its better to stay out then to enter way too late. Relax and wait for the next ride. Maybe next day or day after but it WILL be there again and this time you may be on the ride. If no then wait again. Sounds simple but let me tell you its extremely frustrating and thats the reason there is 90% failure rate in this field. Big players playing with emotions. Like TimeTells says you don't have to be at the start or at the end of a trade. In the middle is just fine as long as you are in the right direction. Its ok to enter a little late and exit early. Profits banked and we move on. Trade Well All.

Thought I would share what I believe is a nice photo at least it looks like it on my phone one of my local beaches...live on a peninsula... This one's a 3 minute drive or so.. as the crow flies less than 1km.. the other beach is sandy..but this one has far more character...

Anyhoo getting dark and hard to see...

We need more One Martens, such as those in Scotland, that keep the grey buggers down but allow the cute native red one's to survive

Not trading today but whilst doing other things tried an experiment on the US500.
TT often mentions the "Bermuda Triangle" so when I saw the US500 run up I thought I would wait for a tipping point ( Through Roadmap channel) -break of lows on the left by lows on the right hand descending price leg. Seems to work as price went back to origin.
But I am not sure if this was just lucky or a common thing. But I am not sure why it formed the "Triangle. If I was I could do well waiting in the wings for such price action. For example : the leg down on the right could have been far shorter before resuming an upward move.
What do you think people?

Agree.
I used to infest this thread with my E/J research charts but having read that TT likes a few pips per session ( rather than chase long winning runs) because probability is on his side, I was struck by the impression that the E/J is a steady chugger for those of us happy with a few pips per trade. Just a thought before a cuppa.

Well I gather there are many ways to look at it.... Waves, levels, structure patterns etc. etc.....................

I do like RoadMap and using the 8ema channel...before someone gets their knickers in a knot....could be the 6 or the 10...JUst stick with one a be consistent
and methodical in your approach.... But for price flipping like that for me..Im looking at the Time of day..more specifically the timing of the candles..WHat time
is it in relation to say the 15m close and the 5m etc..and the 1hr and 4hr...They all matter ...Combine that with a reversal pattern etc...

V bottoms and A tops are common..but catching them is like tryin to catch a thats where the 8ema channel works great in several ways...
All based on where is price opening and closing in relation to the channel..Can be used to get into the move and to exit it...

But enough of my verbal diarehha ....Is it possible...sure.. many factors tho to make it happen ? ! ?
