hear hear! i agree. it all has become futile. ok so a person wants to trade. whadda they do? only 2 choices and 1 option of which to do first = search and research. after this done person moves forward. to do testing review and learn. once done here they do. then review. then get better and better. no need for repetitive threads posts and all that jazz. its obvious people have changed. so trying to do research of present moment is useless if person doesnt already know. although i reckon its funny people go round and round with it all.

Hi Guys.
something that may be helpful is this pivot indi by Nostromo (thankyou again for this lovely piece of code).

The example chart shows "Count period" as 2. For backtesting, this can be increased to show as many weeks (or days months etc) as requied.
For normal trading, I prefer to show only the current week(1). That will reduce the "clutter" on the chart.

I have also shown "Plot future pivots" as TRUE. These will obviously change as the week progresses and mean nothing, but are valuable for doing analysis over the weekend AFTER close of business if that is of benefit.

Weekly fibs are also an option. I have found that these levels can (and are) respected across a lot of pairs.
I personally only use the weekly pivots and fibs, but the "Time period" setting has several options for whatever suits.

There are obviously numerous other options/settings to select from, but I have shown an example of my settings as per the attached chart.

There is no need for any GMT time differences as the code is looking at the last completed(closed) candle.
There will obviously be slight differences in some price levels between different brokers, because of different open and close pricing, but (certainly with the weekly pivots) there should be only a minimal difference.

Sad...

We were taught as a kids to respect older people, but as both you and I learned, respect has to be earned. I have some dose of respect for (older) people, but if I judge they are not good, then they lose that small dose of respect I have for them. Once respect is gone, it's not that I will be bad to that person, I just completely stop caring what the person has to say nor do I acknowledge them as I used to anymore.

Held longs for about 12hrs but have had to chicken out just now with +2 pips only, due to the figures to be released in less than 20mins.
I've learned the hard way to steer clear of these data releases, even if I feel I'm on the right side of the market and the forecast expectations. I just find serenity in standing aside these days...
