Now, I believe we are close to a branching point between inflation either starting to pick up again and forcing CB's to raise interest rates even further than everyone thought would be the case or either we will see a quick decline in inflation (as is the case for headline CPI last couple of Months) which will cause CB's to start cutting rates due to potential deflation around the corner.

What's your opinion Pat? Is there a higher probability of inflation picking up or have CB's overtightened and we are going to witness deflation soon?

Not sure why people are overcomplicating the crap out of why UK CPI sold off. The more you overcomplicate it the less likely you will take advantage of the next opportunity.

That's becasue when enough lines are placed on a chart and spaced closely enough together, nearly any "significant price" will be touched to give a signal. LOL

In line of what BoE planing to do with the interest rates in August. This article related to BoE governor statement.

Now if we look across the pond, Fed want the $DXY to weaken, then today’s softer than expected UK CPI report likely means next week’s FOMC meeting will lean dovish, since a hawkish message would reignite dollar strength.
Going to continue getting in LONG scalp on GU ,whenever have time to trade.

DXY has made it back to 100.07 ( at time I type this), as forecast.
It could extend to 101.70-102.00.
But when we break the low of 99.25, my primary target of 92 comes into focus and it's game on for Gold.
Already got some position in gold targeting 2400.

Here is the simplification: UK CPI did not effect a sell off. But it is very CONVENIENT to find these two COINCIDENTAL events and convince onseself that cause-and-effect are in operation.
