...this prev 1hr sw hi zone = prev res = pot rbs is proving an obstacle to the bears, -but- is it a 'staging post' for the next leg up for the bulls?

News Trading

Our greed comes into play then, plus our fear of missing out on the move.
At times of high volatility, like a major news announcement, orders get filled with large amounts of slippage.
Even I can understand why this happens.
Your broker is reflecting the width of the market (spread), so if he has to widen his spread, and it hits your Buy Stop,

But in simple cases, banks see where their clients have places stops, or reversal orders - then if they have enough volume in their pockets available they hopefully go for stops at certain levels and drive the market into momentum, to which people begin going with the momentum or closing out orders to avoid losses, leading to greater profits.

News trading = gambling ?.
By no means is it gambling ... If you have a feel for the market, and know how it works - as well as apply sound management principles and treat your trading like a business. By no means at all is it gambling.

Let the dust settle and re-think your approach.
If you thought 1.29000 represented good value for X, don't pay more than you have to.
This is a business, and you won't survive if you keep paying more for your goods than you think they're worth.

You need to develop your account until you can sit down with large Investment House/Banks to trade big account with no worries of your $$$ safety.

Us CPI
I think market will focus more Core CPI than headline.

If Core is reluctant to fall, trader might priced in more than 50bps hike for H2 2023 and no rate cut this year.

This may put pressure on US economy, and FED might not get its 'soft' landing; hence put pressure on USD.

There can be a very nasty, tricky, difficult, or troublesome situation sit uation like, FED to be hiking with headline CPI at 3.1%.
What if the number comes in at 3%.
Inversion coming down, rates could be peaking. ........ Dayyumm.

What do you think will happen if FED is going to rise rates with inflation falling to 3%?.

The reluctance to drop below 12920 giving me bounce off vibes especially with data in just over 90mins. Would have preferred to have seen below 129 by now so all SLs can be protected with some profit

Hi, any one from the mentors here to comment on the CPI effect today in the current prevailing position of GBPUSD today? If CPI number are much better then the forecast the DXY may improve, but the point is what level of CPI is make that impact? In case of otherwise, the GBPUSD may head north but it is over burdened by the extra load of selling underneath 1.2925.

The fall in headline could be only temporarily with core sticky and Average Earning increased to 4.4% last Friday.
More time in the market, does not mean you trade better!

I am not giving you or neither want you to do.

But... the theory is if asian low broke from r1 means.. sell day.

Provided the asian high is not broken after news.
