However the dollar can collapse for other reasons. Like issuing a new currency, political instability, increased exports, lack of trust etc.

Why collapse of USD?
"Collapse" is too big of a word, you know USD is priced based on so many things and the big boys at wall street won't let things like this just slip, and the FED also is not looking just at CPI, there are other things that can influence the price like Oil going up won't take effect until only after some time, so they have really many indexes and indicators to watch for, lastly they were saying how labor market and consumers are driving up prices and the average earnings was up by 10 basis points based on the data today, so yeah we will see.

Been reading this thread for the last few days. My take on the G$ is that fundamentals favor the GBP right now. I have been looking for technical sync with GBP strength to buy, and we got a load of buy signals today, as we have for a few weeks now. After yesterday's ADP debacle, with a nice retracement/sell opportunity, the view for today, given the markets reset PA post-ADP, was continued buy. I agree that 1.30 is in sight, if we can get/stay above 1.2850. I would like a pullback now before moving on to 1.30, but BOE Baily speaks Monday and early Wednesday before CPI, so maybe he'll put a rocket under the pound.
