9 period EMA breached. If 20 period\9730 resistance broken then we will probably see some upwards action prior to US sentiment news.

That really was a bad set of retail figures however, and adds fuel to next rate hike being delayed until August...

I want to see the US news and the stock market opening to figure out better. This can be a day for profit taking out of the week's USD longs, profit taking in the carry trades and stock market. Or can be a day of continuation and most likely, of choppy market ahead of the weekend....

Quick short opportunity now. Falling Wedge 30 min chart.

Cable is now precariously prodding around channel support at 1.9711/16. A breakout here could send the pair to 1.9700 initially then 1.9657 for some short term support. After that well we can look at that on Monday and try to get in for a long reversal back up to 2.0000.

Weekly chart looks good for test of 1.9600 support. Channel broken and a close today below 1.9700 will almost assure this. Possible entry at 1.9600 for a 400 pip run up to 2.0000. I am short @ 1.9732 with a stop at 1.9760.

GBP/JPY: Yen buying spree on China announces rate hike. Currently 238.28 and we really needed to see pair above 240.00 for a rise in GBP/USD

Closed my small short position at 1.9705 for a gain of a few pips. Might go back in after the US numbers come out
