It's incredible.

The dollar spends about 4 weeks on one of the straightest uptrends I've seen on the back of fear of a US default. They then pass a law making it impossible for them to default for the next 2 years, and the dollar goes up.

The whole 'informed' world knows it's a ponzi scheme and at some as yet unknown point in the future it will result in a 'crisis,' to say the least, but like all good ponzi schemes, the investors keep on buying until that point, hoping they won't be the last one in lol! Also, what's the alternative?

Can anyone tell me which news events typically impact price the most? I know forex factory has the calender with events labeled by impact but it seems some of these events don't make too much of a difference.

NFP is the most, and those red in calendar is those also like CPI, FOMC

NFP is the news that can make the market goes apeshit.
Other news like PPI, unemployment, GDP may move market but not as strong as NFP.
And also monetary policies.

Actually the news events impact the orders placed by central banks, various investing financial institutions and retail investors these orders then impact price but it all takes time. In the meantime computer AI software moves price to existing open orders in the system. This is why it often appears as if news is not impacting price or impacting price as expected.
