Hi T4T,
Yes and no. I use moving averages on the 5 to 15 time frame only for timing and trade entries.. Higher t/frames are only useful when we have trendy conditions.
We have had 4 weeks of rangy conditions and weekly candle formations are very important to me. Right now we are stuck at my yearly pivot and yearly open at 1.2055 ish. Weekly close above 1.2109 is important for bulls. Weekly close and hold below 1.1830 could swing the pendulum to the downside.
My system is telling me that we could swing up, but of course not guaranteed. The main thing is to lock my better trades in quickly and hope for the best. Weaker trades are closed within the day or week, for bread crumbs. Its ok for me as I trade a longer term strategy. What is unclear today usually becomes crystal clear tomorrow or next week. I do use pivots, daily, weekly, monthly and yearly pivots as well for entry criteria but am afraid I would write a manual about it if I answer you here. However, I do post as I go along with regards to pivots.

i've studied his charts intensely out of curiosity , to learn not debunk..... the charts appear genuine.... the math in the charts is accurate.... they are timely..... and what he is doing is absolutely clear.... 4 zigzags and fibonacia numbers will verify almost every trade.....

the only intentional hazy part is his total combined lot size..... which is easy to figure out..... but that is his call to make public, not mine......

that recent gbpusd weekend draw down, unless hedged, suggests a very large account size...... no business of mine.....

his account size nor his courage to throw forty 3 standard lot trades , again no concern of mine.......

there are some subjects where he is absolutely incorrect.... but yet again, no worries for me......

Well we all must be getting different posts, I've follow Pat for quite sometime now..."far far more than 10k USD a day" you say, I've never seen it, he is an excellent trader I know, and trades real time so I do take notice, why have I not seen this, 10k USD everyday how long has this been going on for?, my eyes must be painted on...

Here's a technical perspective on GBPUSD by a medium-term swing trader. GBPUSD price action on the daily time frame had been grinding a bullish correction for several days as it tackles the 1.20810/1.27000 horizontal resistance zone (purple) seen on the monthly time frame. It turned sideways after a bearish push to the lower boundary of the zone. The technical structure is predominantly bearish, but we cannot rule out a northward liquidity engineering before further southward drive. Nevertheless, should there be a bearish surge of price action in the early part of this week, we may see the 1.17300 horizontal support area (blue) exposed.

I may be wrong. Trade safe and prosper.

As things are from Fridays's close, on Monday morning I am looking for sell opportunities initially on 8m through 64m. We simply have to monitor the progression of down trends through the TFs for the sell possibilities, or to see a failure to progress and determine if the failure presents a buying opportunity.
