There is a previous high above and ADR above that. Interested to see if price will head back towards open, out of curiosity.

Charts Charts and More Charts.......
FIBs FIBs and More FIBs too.....

My end of the year fun lol.. I love seeing where we started and where we finish for a few reasons...
One is just my insatiable appetite for trading,,,,another analyzing,,,and I like to set the stage for next year.

For my normal daytrading I dont make predictions or projections..I simply like to set areas of interest where
the market is highly likely to react. And as I recently posted I use the Weekly and the Daily and the 4hr.

Major Fibs are set of the Weekly..I have just seen too many precise reactions to those levels.
Fibs are also used for entries and targets on the 5m as the basis to work from.
( I will scale down to the 1 or up to the 15 for trade mgmt./entries etc..)

Anyways I have sort of developed a liking of the EurCad this past while...and well it was Its turn for
the topdown treatment...So I will share some charts to show some of what I am looking at...
Keep in mind as the market develops with time the areas of interest may change...

So a bunch of EC charts and an oil chart.... Both charts show they are very close to where they started the year..
Yes,,,, Back to the Open... How many times have you seen Timetells/Pete show this ? His famous 1hr charts.
We all know the markets are fractal by nature..And conversely Nature is Fractal as we are as humans..

I digress but did you know observing Natures Fractals can lower your stress and mental fatigue levels by 60%....
University studies show this.....anyhow back on topic...where was I ?

Mmmm,,,oh another thought..FIbs are Fractal as well...Now back to Fibs...is where I was going....

I mentioned the other day ones sessions relation to another...I normally look back 3 or 4 days at the
highs and lows of the NY session mainly as thats what i mostly trade....So I look at the highs and lows
and also at the Fib Extensions from the first hour of the equity open. As markets will react to previous days
extensions. again I have just seen it too many times to call it a fluke.

And when you consider Fibs are Fractal like the market it all makes sense and confuses at the same time LOL...
Again I have posted in the past about how I have gone back on years and years of 5m charts etc..drawing fibs on the
session opens..Ive crunched the numbers from session pip/pt ranges, days of the week, Fib extensions hit
from 127 on up and I can say the 127 is hit almost 90% of the time with a close outside of the box.and when the
127 is hit...there is a very near 70% probability 62 will be hit...

With all that said I dont take Fibs lightly I strongly believe in them..The trick is the application of them and thus being
able to execute on the application. Sorry didnt mean to write a big blurb here..So will finish up. As I really cant recall
what all I have rambled on about..

Let the charts speak for themselves.

Cheers
Blue

Yup. Would love to be able to say what I really think, but ...

All this got me thinking and I started pulling up long term charts and I'm thinking, how times have changed. USD_JPY going back a few years. Makes the recent highs look tame.

From a trading perspective, my biggest takeaway from this year is at least I got a BASE and UNDERSTANDING of the 3 BASICS of reading a chart: WHAT (market mechanics), WHEN (time), and HOW (identifying setups). Thank you 2022, and all the helpful hands/guides/mentors/friends of FOREX FACTORY.

My resolution for 2023 is to work on the EXECUTION PART as well as finetuning the methodology.

I wish all of you a very prosperous 2023.

Cheers!!

Anyway - playing with a Dax chart. Kinell, more charts !
Levels and lines again - prior to UK Open.
The 50% Fib referred to, is taken AFTER the completed Pink (Bluey) one hour box, but can be a target. The 75BRN coincides with a level marked prior to open -both of which coincide with the 50% Fib (Not drawn)

Hi FX.
Have a look at Post 17 on Lauras Journal thread.
Some exercises there on entries and exit plus trading advice in general.
Getting into a trade is one thing, but staying in until your stop is hit or a pre defined warning level is hit is quite another. Then you have profit targets and, hopefully, levels to take off some profit so that most days are not spent watching price come back and bite you. Easy to say this, but when you are putting any cash on the line, your head demon gets in the way: FOMO and getting out before targets and a root cause of all perils is overtrading. There is a skill in setting out things before market opens then just sitting there watching price react around your levels etc. Eventually you put together bits of knowledge gleaned from elsewhere and come up with an approach suitable for you only. You will probably end up like many of us, cursed with the quest for knowledge, always reading and exploring and experimenting - again tuning your approach with any new knowledge to suit only you. I must make it clear that I am not advocating jumping from one method to another - that's a butterfly approach that gains you nothing - what I am saying is get your method built to suit you, try it out; and if it works then you can always fine tune it with new knowledge that improves your current approach ( if you have one) . Example, my approach is "Roadmap" but I am happily fine tuning it with stuff on this thread, adding for example: levels and Looking at fibbies, BUT execution is Roadmap.
