if we stay in yellow channel, the way down is clear = sell usd
maybe higher to R1

gbpusd = we have to stay above 1.21060 to go higher

It's frustrating, but it can't be helped.

I still journal my trades as below;

GE/GR - good entry/good result - all trade entry and exit rules met - a winning trade
GE/BR - good entry/bad result - all trade entry and exit rules met - a losing trade
BE/GR - bad entry/good result - trade entry and/or exit rules not met - a winning trade
BE/BR - bad entry/bad result - trade entry and/or exit rules not met - a losing trade

I wish all 'BE's' were losing trades, it's the BE/GR's that are the dangerous ones - re one's own trading psychology. Important to recognize this.

M5's CandleCloose dropped quite strongly, but it OBed the BollingerBand and moved inside.

Which do you think better for a trader to improve their skill.

Here is the option going forward :

Is logic, common sense, and insight that goes into designing/refining a system is far more important than the backtesting process or results. ?

At issue is how you generate and refine your system.
On the one hand, you have the thought processes.
This is how you come up with ideas for making or improving a system.

This is the “art” side of system design.
This includes how you go about brainstorming, and is heavily tempered by experience and personal biases (try as we may, we can never truly eliminate those).

On the other hand you have backtesting.
This is the “science” side of system design.

What woud you do different into the coming year...

Retrace the reversal of M5? But is it easy to lower? The reversal sign EMA3,6Cross↑ is out below. Is it enough if the opposite ↓ sign comes out?

There is no easy way, not here, not everywhere else. Find your system, the edge that works, and try to polish it.
Just learn more, work harder, just try to survive to another day.
