i'm not mistaken, the purpose of increasing interest rate is to slow down the economy / remove excess money supply.
Lower than forecast is incredibly good for USD, it means the economy is slowing down / money supply is contracting.
But yes, I'm with you, SHORT on 2300 SL 2320 TP 2202, just 98 pips. Good night and we shall see tomorrow

interest rate is used to control inflation. vice versa.
investors look high inflation as high opportunity in the economy, so demand for that currency increases and exchange rate also increases. High inflation pays high return to investors and manufacturers. (vice versa).
When inflation is getting down, investors expect that federal will lower interest rates, and lowering interest rate is bearish for that currency.
One more thing: when bank officials announce that they will increase interest rate, traders price in that change and price immediate change, while when the actually increase interest rate, price keeps its position rather than increasing. This is because traders have already PRICED IN (incorporated) the change when interest rate was announced to be changed.
