Not sure if anyone else remembers, but last Thanksgiving the forex markets were quite busy. JPY and CHF, in particular had huge run ups that day. Dollar had a pretty good sell off as well. As soon as the Asian markets opened Thanksgiving evening, the markets went nuts. Basically all the commodity or 'risk on' pairs sold off hard. Just take a look at any xxx/JPY or xxx/CHF chart. The largest candle you'll see for 2021 was probably on Thanksgiving. Obviously that doesn't mean it's going to happen again this year, but definitely don't assume it's going to be a quiet day. Here's a chart of USD/CHF that day.

I did not enter any long on Cable this week. I was waiting for a better price.

My USDJPY opened here, and here, had reached a level I liked, so I closed them all. Holding period, longest was 3 days since Nov 21.

I'd disregard candle count. Why? these people can print 7 billion green/candles, they can retest a level 43 billion times.

Current gu butterfly pattern 1.27 pointing 1.2080, but 1.618 pointing 1.2190.
I do believe wave 5 on the way..

True. However, given that trends don't continue forever, the longer a trend runs, the closer it is to the end. That is to say that the end of a trend doesn't get further away the longer it goes on for, because if it did, the trend would continue forever, and they don't.
That's obviously not to say that it's ending here or now.
It also doesn't mean that the likelihood of a trend continuing falls linearly either.
