Now we have some new lingo to work with.
Ignored

Hahaaa, only some lingo derived from simple observations over time.

"In essence, a very tradeable week on the GJ, within its own boundary controls, on many timeframes, 15m, 4hr, 1m - and 1hr."

I'm definately not a pivot trader myself (ie by that I mean using a pivot line to determine an entry)
But MANY are.
And from casual observation so maybe are certain styles of traders imho.
By that I mean, forget scalpers for a moment but I believe they are in there also.
But certainly day-after-day Swing traders who may well observe the Weekly Pivot lines (NOT just the PP points themselves).
And also Positional traders such as Institutions, Hedge Funds etc who may well observe the Monthly Pivot Lines (NOT just the PP points themselves).

So who is/are controlling price boundaries.
Maybe CBs are at the widest extremes (major controls).
Maybe large Institutional orders around the Monthlys (OR defending them)
Maybe massive amounts of Swing Traders picking the hi's & lo's inside the Weeklys (reversing but NOT defending) around the major Swings.

And a few of us (lol) intra-Day scalpers WATCHING what the bigger groups are then doing when price ...

APPROACHES then TOUCHES them
While after that EITHER reversing or continuing direction, based maybe on aggregate holdings & risk profiles of Liquidity Providers.
ie just a (personal) view of boundary controls.

For example in the chart referred from the post above, price after tip-touching (another newie ) found itself for 3 days locked inside the Weekly & Monthly PPs.
(now should price break one of those next week, tho we will have a new Weekly, we may see new structure take place, who knows, not me, I just watch lol )

So from the above GJ charts 1m, 15m, 1hr and 4hr

Here's the big daddy lol, a One Day Chart View of the whole damn thing

[And if I posted rectangles of where I placed my trade scalps in amongst all that during the week you'd probably laugh at their miniscule coverage in the whole pic
But a good week ]

Hi Shabs,

Of course, and why stop at Monthly imho

I have YEARLY hi-lo's and Yearly pivots also on my charts

But they turn up so infrequently though on intra-day trading.

For scalping, I have found trading in the moment (from a 1min chart), and
using the 1hr & 1dy charts as a confluence comparison (ie are they "with" or 'against" each other in delta direction),
suffices,
while with the 1hr then holding precedence for my 1min activity as long as it is NOT near the end of that hourly candle.

A confluence of price activity all around Lines tells me to be on my toes for some action,
especially if price is forming itself into an Inflection Point around those confluences.

Confluences combined with Inflection often will form Structure Lines and I then prepare for structure breaks, retests, and then PA for trading.

Each to their own naturally but what an interesting game we play in, and ALL opinions are VALID imho

Trade well, trade safe all

It's a valid point. Buying highs then scratching the head as to why it goes down repeatedly for example.

Watch from 54:54. Yen example.

I mean, he doesn't miss a move of course, but can that be done in real time was my question. Cheers and good trading to all.

Mr Burke offers good value learning and hindsight is awesome.

I would like to see him do a trade however. I come and go from his content. It's good then it shits me. His 1 minute mindset vids are the best.

Hi FWR,
Maybe quarterly, bi-monthly, six monthly also.

What I notice is, that it's more what the Market (and therefore other Traders) do at & after any of these points of interest (Kev calls them Interaction Places) that is a key for consideration. If we can watch for a reaction “after” the Interaction,
ie if local structure is broken, retested then resumes (which often looks like Inflection) then we might have a nice little trade on our hands (or not, lol, - I merely follow along in the ‘moment’ mostly with the larger directional play - I scalp and I get out on any strange shuffle up).

Jankovsy

Hey, that was the guy I was trying to think of a while back in a post.
He had a book called “Time Compression” (I think). A tough read, but I speed read. There were some interesting chapters about the “herd” and the “crowd”.
One of his sentences stuck with me & I did a bit of thought on it later lol, though I’m paraphrasing it here.

Something like “we are not the architects of our own winning trades, we trade yes, but it is what the market & other traders do AFTER US; that moves price one way or the other and provides us our profit (or loss)”.

Brain teaser lol. I will still pat myself for a win & kick myself for a loss lol, rather than other traders, BUT THEN MOVE ON. Hey .

So any of these Interaction Lines, which come into play, well how to say it one more time.
No need to jump the gun as someone ELSE will. Allowing us to confirm our entry, before entry.

There was an old saying, and whether it relates to Forex Trading or not I don’t know lol.

"don't cross the street when the lights have just turned red, cross the street when the cars have stopped."
