I think so too. We know that FX trading is not a 'get rick quick' thing, but if it is viewed as a high return (and high risk of course) investment, then it makes most other investment schemes look silly. For most of us who do not have lots and lots of money, putting out money in the bank is just a waste of time because the returns are a joke. Especially when compared to what banks loan out money out at!

Eeeek....I'm getting off track here!

So if we see the banks as not viable to make money, but FZ trading IS viable, then to minimise risk we could target (say) 25 pips per day and compound it with lot size to keep the risk the same. 25 pips per day should be possible with not too trouble I think. I don't know if I make sense here? I was going to try a spreadsheet last weekend but I got distracted. I'll try this weekend and see what I can find.

makes perfect sense actually... having money in the bank is a joke... I mean some money is fine but anything substantial is not worth it...considering what's happening with inflation and all... the $ doesn't go far these days... you almost HAVE to do something. 25 pips is doable, hard part is staying OUT after you get it so you dont end up giving it back.

Very easy to get $52000 with just 25pips if you open like 4-5x 100 lots size with a $3-4M account size.
More time in the market, does not mean you trade better!

Yes, it must be possible. Even if it is split over 2 trades of 13 and 12 pips, for example. There will be days like today where I made +62, and better traders made 100 or more, which will offset days of no pips, or recovering from giving pips to the market. If at the end of the month the average daily profit is 25 pips, it would work. Even 20 pips would do, or less. It would just make the 1 year nest egg slightly less. I can work spreadsheets (in a basic form), I will try this out and see how the theory side would add up.

Perhaps that target would work out with a much smaller account and lot size if it wasn't a competition.? If it took (say) a year or two years (just guessing) to compound $1000 account to become a $50,000 account, that's a better return than any bank on the planet. I don't know the numbers I'm not clever enough to figure it out. But I might be able to with a spreadsheet.

lol right. If you look at the spreadsheet its a crazy percent rate and most brokers don't even allow the leverage past 50-1... and this actually isnt 25 pips its 20. basically risking 15 pips on each trade and scaling up after every trade... you have to win 30 in a row though which, isn't impossible but not likely...
