fruit machines were how i made my money back in the day. it was better to have someone losing money slower rather than quicker, the house always wins. Even when the big payouts came in they were set at 94%, i was happy getting my 6%

When i was a bouncer, some of the guys used to play the fruit machines at the end of the night after they had been loaded up and no payout.They were quite successful.
The early machines were good to nobble, ultra violet light, alcohol too, totally illegal but a winner.lol.

Same thing happened when I work in a few bars about 20 years ago. Regulars would watch which machines had been played the most and when they last paid out. They had proper methodology.

That reminds me of how easily people are bribed into going to extremes for a tiny reward. (Plus seem to forget that their work reaps even GREATER benefits to others above them.)

I worked at a company where several women worked a production line. If the monthly quota was met, free coffee and doughnuts. So, during the last 2 days of the month, if more than 2 days worth of normal work was required to reach quota, these women would put forth a HERCULEAN effort to achieve that goal--for a reward of about $2 each. LOL.

Management had such a good deal--spend about $20 each month on bribes and maintain a HIGHLY profitable end-of-month balance sheet instead of spending $0 and having just a normal profit month.
