Disliked{quote} I am holding shorts so I hope so but I have my concerns. BoE seems to be really taking action this time round (whether or not it will work is another matter for now) while USD seems to have gone on sudden snooze. Usually good Jobless Claims data can really spur the USD but we did not see any reaction last night. I believe as long as Gold stays above 1640, Cable won't "crash".Ignored

Disliked{quote} I’d be careful…. USD is actually bearish. Must understand that since it is confirmed a recession today this means unemployment will rise, this is an indicator for inflation dropping it is mostly likely the feds will pull back on hikes. During a recession, rates usually decrease which would make sense for them to do so. This is just my opinion.Ignored
Disliked{quote} Yesterday's data actually reported lesser unemployment claims. There is absolutely no indication about pulling back on hikes. If anything, Powell was super aggressive during Jackson Hole. Also, if US is hit with a recession, chances are, everywhere else would be hit even harder. I don't really see how what you mentioned should affect the USD in the way you said it would, care to elaborate? Thanks.Ignored
Disliked{quote} USD has already been responding to this news first of all. Second of all, must think ahead and assume what the feds will do with the data and follow the foot prints. Feds increasing rates in the future during a recession would be catastrophic. I wouldn’t be surprised to see dovish remarks at their next meeting in November.Ignored
Disliked{quote} Powell during Jackson Hole:Higher interest rates likely will persist “for some time”
“historical record cautions strongly against prematurely loosening policy”.
