Basically it should be around 1.5-2.1 pips from less volatile to highly volatile event. In very rare case it may exceed 3.1(Like CPI data, RAte decision and today). Spreads is around 2.5-3.8 for my broker today
Or you are overtrading. Find a good entry and let the direction do the work for you. Easier and less painful.
Or simply change you broker!

best to avoid last week of month / 3rd quarter close - moves will be very wild and even the best stop loss will not work

Go back 20 years and it wasn't uncommon for the CABLE to move like this, markets keep changing all the time, systems that worked back then are not working now and vice versa ....trade the now, right now...monday morning rant over , now for a nice cup of tea

You do realize you could have hedged the trade to stop the rot until it turns, there is no sign of it doing that yet.
