Back in the day i trade without target, i exit when i see some profit, i exit when i feel the trade is bad, i accumulate a lot small profit, eventually the amount from usd 100 to 200, but somehow i lost it all when I'm facing bad streaks and tempted to revenge trade.
Yes i made 100% on that usd 100 account, but so what? There was no system, no rules, it was destined to fail at some point.
If your answer is a confident yes to the question about working system, then the last piece of the puzzle is money management. For each trade, you know exactly how much you will lose if you hit SL. For myself, every trade i take, if i lose, i lose 2.5% of account, but when i win, i win 3.75% of account, i set my wins 1.5x higher than my losses, even if i only win 45% or 50% of the time, i am still in net profit, because every win i get more dollars and i lose less dollar when i hit SL.
How many pips doesn't matter to me. If the SL distance is short, then the lot size will be much higher, whereas if my SL is wide, my lot size will be smaller, both scenario will still give me minus 2.5% of account loss if hit SL.
Maybe you knew the above already, it's common knowledge, but if you didn't know, i hope i helped, follow it and you will start making money.
