Hi Jeremi,
I like your analogy and it is so true. You know how many times I fall down and get up again? so many times that I can't even remember. It is very frustrating to see 100 pips profit diminish to nothing. I do get comfort out of the fact that I lock my trades at b/even and some quite quickly much like a scalper would. It is the trades that survive after that and the ones I forget about, that carry me through most of the year and potentially turn into thousands of pips per trade. I scalp in between and take profit like a normal scalper would. To build a mansion, you need a solid foundation and the trades that survive eventually become my foundation to build my mansion when the trend develops. Anyway by no means a mansion for me because I trade small. But the idea is still the same.
Today has been a hard day, nevertheless, I survive.

first, I didn't do buy/long in the green zone ( take profits only ) and it was my hope that the price didn't reach my invalidation level for the bear ( Break TL upper )
and the second, is the rest of my entries from the profits that I got today on GU.

when do u want to take profit ? Or u just let it run for years?

If you go back to my posts here in the cable thread you will see that I had trades running from March 2020 to about June 2021. So about a year and 3 months. Could have been longer. Just speaking off the tip of my tongue. It really does not matter, it depends on the circumstances and the trend change over months. Whilst this growth works for me I still scalp and trade short term trades.
