Hate to say it, but today I was helpless. Too late did I realize this is going to be a damn range today. Without Lavrov's comment the price would move as much as USD/JPY (nothing). I learn every day, but I wonder how much learning is ahead because I don't think my account is gonna last that long .

I'm liking the look of your chart as i'm looking for GBP/USD to go short to 1.1818 to close 2 shorts and pick up a long order of 1.1818 which I put a limit at 1.2280 along with 2 other longs that are in play. Though I'm not expecting it to happen in too short a space of time.

You probably know more then me, but this is what I think.
Inflation was slightly higher then I would thought, todays acual reading was for June, not July. In June we had very high fuel prices. Numbers were not as bad. Will we have 0.5% next BOC meeting?
Statistics project future month inflation to around 10-11%.

Higher inflation =
higher prices =
wages staying the same =
consumers spend less =
lower economic growth
Lets say on your £100 spending you paid 5% before, you spend £105, now after todays increase 9.4%, you will be paying £109.40. You will have to pay this extra £4.40 from your pocket or savings. Your boss will not pay you extra.
This is just for a guidance, some products will be priced higher, depending on import cost, fuel, gas etc. Check price of pasta, bread, crisps. Spaghetti is up by 50%.
For business - reduces expectation of profit growth, stocks fall.

Depending of countries economic situation, central banks will consider a quick fix by increasing banks interest rate. How markets react to rate increase? Higher rates are usually hawkish for currency, but if not as high as expected, currency can weaken, sell off.
In some occasions rate changes are priced in and plummets after the announcement.
We all prefer healthy economy, if you keep repeating same stories, investors will show you trading sentiment on the chart.
