Simple price action such as
Previous Highs and Lows --> Price levels
Trend --> Bias

Then just follow the TDI signals

Trade Entry is only a small part of the whole trading process. However, a simple and accurate trading method is the way to trade like breeze.


I wouldn't waste time arguing with the people with mental illness. If they want to make trading complicating and become losing traders, that is their choice. However from time to time we have to warn other readers of these people.

I just focus on trading BigE's Trading Made Simple and share my progress.

Big E is the big deal.


The way I practice TMS can be found in the following posts by BigE, No need to add any more craps like gambling EAs and indicators.

1. TDI is heart of the TMS 5-method --- #261, #2617
All trades I share here are signaled by TDI green cross /bounce red

2. I work with time frames and time of day that suits me --- #644, #1170, #4470
I usually trade during work hour because of my privilege at my job which I have a lot of free time. Sometimes at night because it is London/NY market time when volatility is high. I like Lower Time Frame because I prefer quick-in-quick-out.

3. I use simple PA analysis that everyone can learn --- #276, #647
I prefer leading ones which I can anticipate TMS TDI cross/bounce setups to catch the swing in early stage like BigE demonstrated in his charts

4. Aligning with the discussion of this thread during BigE's time, entries are the main focus --- #495
If I have other aspect of trading to share, I would go to other related threads. I hope readers in this thread can receive concise and relative information in respective thread for efficient learning

5. I apply the correct use of TDI Green & Red lines --- #11
#11 has clearly shown that BigE refreshed his chart before viewing the chart. Traders who want to learn and practice the TMS should 1) refresh the chart before analysis, or 2) use a non-repainting TDI Green Red indicator. I chose the later.

6. Absolutely no EA --- #802
Two reasons: 1) To respect the thread rule. 2) If you need to rely on EAs to help you become profitable, i) Your trading skill is so-so at this stage, and ii) you will never learn the discretionary analysis that can further improve your trading skills

7. Most importantly, I participate the forum with respect --- #486


Adding crap EAs does not help improve your trading. Set and forget SLTP you can maximise your odds and profit. Trust your analysis as a TMS trader

I have read some of your posts in another thread. It has similarities with BigE's Trading Made Simple method

According to your V pattern rules, setups are anticipated at previous high/low with a rejection.

BigE's #647

Rejection

The difference is your entry confirmation is a breakout candle, while BigE's is TDI cross/bounce signal.

I also enjoy trading consolidation because price is moving between price levels. A lot of setups in both TMS and your V pattern.


For example, this TMS setup would be traded at the same candle close as of your rules.

Hi everyone. I have been on forexfactory since god knows when but decided to make an account in 2020; but I just kept being a silent reader.
This thread has been intriguing me since last year that I finally started to test out this system at the beginning of this year maybe? But not consistent since I am trading mainly using supply-demand and all those stuffs.

Currently I am taking a short on AU, and here is how I approach this system:

  1. I don't really like Heikin Ashi because it does not tell you exactly where you are at the market, so I add another candlestick layout to the right, just so I can see my exact location (but HA candle does give you that ease since it looks so simple).
  2. I ONLY take continuity trade, no counter trend. I enter on 1h/2h alongside 4h trend; therefore, I place my yellow 50 EMA that is locked on 4h TF. Then I placed another 50 EMA that shows the current trend of the TF I am on. Oh also, that essential 5-EMA.
  3. I follow Big E's 5-method: when price retraces/pulling back then it crosses 5 EMA to my direction, I wait for my signal candle (candle that crosses and CLOSES above/below 5 EMA) and I wait for another confirmation candle (wait until the next candle closes with the same color as the signal candle).
  4. Making sure the stoch and TDI showing the right signal, then execute on the closing of the confirmation candle.
  5. Taking partials and set BE at 1.2R, full TP at 2R.
  6. Manually close the trade when price crosses the 5 EMA and closes above/below it.


At this point, I started to wonder if I really need the stochastic and TDI or not, since execution and management are mostly done based on the EMA.

Anyway, nice to finally talk to you and finally post here.

- do not trade TDI when the price is in consolidation or near a consolidation

when you have your V-Pattern ... you have achieved what Big E achieved when stripped the TDI from his charts,

2scoops asked me a long time ago what would be the most beneficial to learning this method for higher success... The answer was simple... study old charts for set ups... now strip down everything on that chart at that point... trends, angles, S/R levels, News times, Stoch angle within the 20-80 lines..etc. Burn it into your memory... I spent 2 years doing that.... so what does that mean?

It takes me 15 seconds to strip a chart down to nothing including the TDI & Stoch's. Taking clean trades is a breeze for me... why?

I can take you to water but I can't make you drink... follow the simple entry & exit rules. Forget other indicators. I went down those roads so you wouldn't have too...

There is a handful who trade it correctly here who are rewarded nicely...
