What? Why would anyone want to be buying other currencies like the Euro or GBP? Do you not understand that money follows yield / rates. The Fed has already told you that they are at least 2% more in interest rate hikes coming before years end. If inflation does not start to tail off,,,,then there may be even more. Is it priced in? Who knows, but I do know that you don't buy markets that are in a huge downtrend...ever.
Sounds very much like someone who is trapped trying to pick a bottom and is now trying to rationalize holding losers as the market tanks further.
Just remember...the market can remain irrational MUCH MUCH longer than you can stay liquid mate. Cut the losers so you can see clearly

not sure about buying other currencies but banks have started selling USD to balance exchange rate =>> to protect import-based businesses! fed rate hike (aggressive) might favour traders but not for the economy at this time!

FAKE CPI

US markets volatility yesterday was due to a CPI report which turned out to be FAKE
The report showed a MoM inflation of 1.7% and YoY inflation of 10.2%.
Fake CPI report was the cause of the 3pm sell off.
Stock Sell off with many in RED last night after the fake CPI release

All eyes are on the US CPI data later today.
The estimates are looking for US consumer inflation to move up to +8.8% y/y in June, with the core reading expected to moderate a little to +5.7% y/y after the +6.0% y/y reading in May.

Based on historical month on month changes of the CPI:
• A surge above 8.76% would be a bad news.
• A drop below 8.32% would be a pretty good news.
So which one is it going to be?

let's get you ready for an elevated cpi print:
IF 9.38%<cpi>8.76% THEN it is highly elevated with an increase above the historical median increase = typically bearish (for stock)
IF cpi > 9.38% that's above the 95th percentile in terms of historical surge = drop everything and run away
