The blunt truth is that each time you place a trade, you have already predicted. You place a trade in anticipation of profit which can either go up or come down. The act of forex trading has to do with buying and selling ahead of future outcome, which in an actual sense means we are all predicting by choosing a side that has more chance of winning than losing.

If we are not predicting then why are we analysing the market with different tools before we take a position? No one is certain about the future as we are mere humans, but we try our best by doing things now that by the time future comes we will hopefully be happy about the decisions taken.

The 2 things don't have to follow each other. It may be semantics to some but there is a difference and it is this: In placing a trade knowing what the probability of a winning trade is, based on past historical outcomes, it is not predicting, it is merely playing an edge. All we know when we place that trade is the historical probability of a winning trade based on a past sample (s) size of times it happened before. On any occasion our edge sets-up in the future we do not know whether on any particular occasion it does that it will be one of the times it produces a winning trade, or a losing trade, (assuming the trade has been taken on a set-up that has not displayed a 100% win probability over those historical samples.) We cannot know because every moment in the market is unique, made up of a mix of different buyers/sellers and volume than last time the edge set-up. Therefore we are not predicting the outcome (because prediction is not possible,) although obviously we hope that the outcome of every trade will be a win. We place the trade though knowing that if the market behavior underlying the reason we placed the trade, [ie the repeating set-up/edge that developed,] continues into the present and future, then over the future sample of trades, a net gain will be achieved overall across the sample, providing we stick to the risk and money management rules associated and optimised to the particular edge.

THen a rise may happen.

Hi All!
I'm new here but been trading a while. To add my two cents, I'm hoping for 1.23 but could easily see it reaching 1.15 if there continues to be strong news from the US. I'm long on cable so hoping the GBP gains some strength. I guess time will tell!

I can give you money or point you to a good directions that will benefit your trading but to tell you exactly why, how, when i trade i won't do that because

1) that's what makes me unique.

2) that's what makes my trading me so if i give you then i will be giving you me.

3) I wish to take a huge part of the 7 trillion daily pie and by doing that it will affect a lot of things

4) Nobody handed me anything, i took clues here and there for over a decade and some years and am still taking

There are clues everywhere, even here so read and study and then you will be able to summon all the particles from all corners of the online world that will make your trading edge.

When people post their result don't feel the owe you anything or they are lying about it, see it as it is possible, be inspired by it, be motivated by it to work harder and smarter. cry if you want to but don't despise and hate them or their result because when you do, you will be telling the Universe/Divine forces that you don't believe it can be done and so you won't get it. ETC. Cheers

I don't know the story with the sandwich, but I know something about Warrick Dunn. For those who didn't follow his college (FSU) and NFL(TB, Atl) respective careers. I assure you that Dunn wasn't a petty loser but an American success story. He got a respectable career, his jersey was retired, and he accumulated wealth that allows him a comfortable life now and in his golden years. It couldn't happen if he weren't totally professional on and off the field, dedicated to the ambitious goals to achieve. I don't want you to judge Dunn on one "sandwich" event because I firmly believe it had to be more to it. If you don't know what kind of person Warrick Dunn has been, please, read the below attachment.

There is always danger to one sided story... Dunn is a great philanthropist with plethora of humanitarian services.
