Not Europe which is the cause, but Putin who always makes negative sentiment, especially regarding the energy needed by Europe .... in December , Putin likely to break/stop supply of gas and oil to Europe ... Russian War vs Ukraine are getting hotter, that is a negative sentiment for Euro

No need for me to have a competition with you. I am already satisfied with my analyses. OK people, let's start 2021 with a look at GBPUSD.
Please remember that IMT analyses are based on expectations/probabilities of "normal" market movements. Considering that the pandemic is an "unusual event", we could very well see some unusual deviations from expected movements.

The bigger picture
Because we are in a rather long-term down move via the Year2+ turning down, with rallies still due on MN8 and higher TFs, there is an expectation for the current up swing seen on MN1 to end soon (likely within 1-3 months) followed by a pullback of 5-8 months that is likely to reach around 1.26, but with the behavior of recent swings, could reach to about 1.2. Then a subsequent up swing to the 1.35 to 1.45 area.

This down move has extended to a full 14 months so far, and has indeed reached the the second expected level. 1.26 was hit April of this year, or 10 months from the swing high in June.

It has to do with the US releases coming up this week wed ISM and fri Payrolls. They're position the market the way they need to. The original catalyst was the volatility at 23:30 cst aud rate relase. 30 min later right as London session opened they Pulled liquidity hard and let the all the antipodeans drop like lead - gathering supply in the process. Successively they ripped Yen and then Dollar followed suit.

This was a planned, concerted effort and this doesn't happen by accident. Where they take things later this week no one knows but them. You can be sure they know the numbers already.

Yet more trendless sideways grind - 99.99% of retail traders lose, and that's the way it will always be.

The recent 'coming off' of oil shows that a large component of higher prices is down to speculators.

Perhaps the left is correct in blaming price-gouging and greed on the part of big companies/financial markets.
