This guy is an out of touch maniac, I was surprised at how sharp the pound fall was on a high inflation read.
My feeling/assessment is the government is not registering the scale of the looming issues, hence the fall?
They could do a lot more.
Best thing is to hold energy down by removing all the high taxes (30% electric/gas overnight) then raise interest rates to deal with that level of inflation.
A tax rise would also cool inflation but they are already at record highs, the rise in national insurance while dropping income tax is a joke.

It's better to be hit with higher interest rates in a nutshell.

P.S. I also I agree with labour saying windfall tax UK energy firms to offset fuel even though that goes against my grain.
