I tried to stay on H4 long once its useless,now only H1 i stay long- short.

GANN traded the market, so his sequence is specific for financial markets.

Gann traveled to many countries during his studies of markets. It would be highly unlikely that he was not familiar with the Fibonacci ratio and the many examples found in nature. So with that as part of his knowledge base, wouldn't it make sense that if using Fib numbers would be more advantageous than other numbers, such as eighths, that he would have made extensive use of them? Of course, because he was doing mentally, by hand, or with use of a "helper tool" (such as the Square of Nine) the calculations involved in arriving at projections, eighths once again are simpler than Fib numbers.

Also, most of the markets that Gann was trading were based on dollars, and the market price further divided into quarter dollars or eighths of dollars, not into tenths or hundredths of dollars.

And that demonstrates how one can have a number of possible models to choose from, but when actually carefully applying the models to the available data usually results in one model being better at describing and working with the data than the other models.

Sure, great idea to stay on H4 (really, H8) long--UNTIL you have evidence from SMALLER TFs that significant attempts to stop the H8 up swing are underway and potential profits are being eroded.

I think it is more useful to consider on any TF what is more LIKELY to occur than what is POSSIBLE to occur. This simplifies things because you need only 2 action plans:
1. action if the LIKELY outcome is met;
2. action if the LIKELY outcome is not met.

In many cases, 2. can even be simplified to simply, "do nothing", leaving only 1 action plan to consider.

Although you moved down from H4 to H1, you might have a better picture if you continue lower to M5/M15. If you are still long, look how much your potential profits have eroded. Does your trading plan have conditions for partial or complete exits under such conditions?

Do you have confirmation that the up swing is over and that you now should look for selling opportunities, or is there not yet confirmation, so that you might have an opportunity to buy again as the smaller down swings reverse?

GANN agreed with Fibonacci on basic rules of measurements(waves, periods, start/end, high/low) but found dividing equally more suitable for trading, so he divide everything (time/price/angles) by 18/th's to get the harmony in the future.

the indicator use the 1 2 4 sequence to show law of vibration when compared with price HHHL & LHLL.

any math will organize the chaos of markets (GANN, Fibonacci... etc) but you can't do without the 50%

Nobody knows how Gann traded exactly. Read his books, free PDFs online. You have his instruments and it depends on each personīs capability to get to understand them. Just like Elliott. they didnīt explain everything they knew but they were very accurate in their times and there is evidence of it.

Gann used mathematics, primary square root. He introduced line angles and other instruments just in case mathematics was done wrongly but in my case i find his mathematics easier than angles and all that.

I have always been interested in Gann's work. the system behind it.The logic.
but I haven't had time to study yet.

we are talking about his math not portfolio

Very good point about eighths Dr. Dave . I wondered how those guys traded back then . What are now a 1000 today were just 1 a hundred years ago . When it becomes known that eighths existed its more understandable . Did sixteenths exist ? I don't know .

G/M, a rise in Asian session continued by early London session breeching desc t/lines to the upside, price @ current dly hi just shy of 23.6% 3749-3359 and @ bottom of a prev 4hr/dly sw lo zone = prev supp =pot sbr that extends on 4hr to circa 3465. 61.8% 3524-3359 is in there @ 3461, with Dly R2 circa 3465.
