very wise decision and a great read of the markets.
I tried to get clever but luckily was able to get my sh!t together and recoup the losses.
Was really mad at myself for what I did, but I am glad it eventually popped out of the top today as I was about to add in another element for direction which was instantly proven wrong today. Keep an eye on those levels, they seem to be very key!


at this point, my win/loss ratio is not good and I am using mini's. Definitely not trading mini's until next week. You make your own luck and I did that today with the final trade. But I could have avoided so much pain.

I need to come up with a different metric. Instead of Win it should be Hit Target. I clearly lossed some today.

I took $47 after fees .. but another 5% or so towards the combine target

I saw it pulling back quite sharply from the London Open level and took profit early on the final lot.

top target got hit. wonder if we come back down now to the weeks lows? Currently trading at 50% of the weekly range.

Just on the practice account today. Don't want to give anything back. Don't want a live trade to get caught in shortened market hours. Made so many mistakes before, I need to learn the lessons
From a journalling standpoint, it will be useful to know how much trading can actually be done on a day like today. I imagine the opening print will have volatility and then it tails off pretty quick.

Today was a US bank holiday 'Thanksgiving' wasn't sure whether to include it in the stats but I am as it's the 24th trading day and I was able to make a trade though not using the BO of IB setup. Traded from the higher value area back to the 50% of the IB. Would have been a great trade if it were on the real account.

I always thought the probability of getting to the first extension was 66%, but so far this market is doing better! much better.

After the great trade yesterday I was hoping for another range expansion, unfortunately, the Fed killed the mood and then traders halted ahead of NFP tomorrow. Was definitely a loss, may be 2 if I had taken every set-up. I should definitely not trade while the Fed are talking.

Pretty sure that if I go into the day with a bias, the market does its best to prove me wrong. Today I was expecting further downside. The market went higher.
Luckily the system keeps me out of some nightmare scenarios. Just need patience. Feel like I am 1 step closer to semi-automation. Would be good to have a trade manager, set to 1:2 risk/reward profile, which I could turn on and off depending on what was going on with the calendar.
