forgot to update the trade stats for the fwd test. The aggressive breakout didn't reach 150% so it is a loss. I also would have had to close at the end of the session, meaning even if it had been below the entry-level, I would have counted it as a loss.

For the bulls 16400 and 16450 are key levels.
Yesterdays TPO shows the volume and trading all at the bottom. 'b' profile, with stops sitting at the top of the 'b'.
Looing back in history, the previous time there was a 3 day profile, the next session was a 'b' profile and the stops got triggered resulting in a bullish trend.
CPI, may bring it crashing down today, so I am not going to get ahead of myself. Just sitting patiently. Will probably end up watching all the way through to the 30 year auction before pulling the trigger, unless something magical sets up.

A big price tail is seen as a negative. Why? Because the marginal buyer of the bond was only willing to pay a much lower price than the average.

Hope you were able to trade it - what are your current thoughts on the initial SL?..i'm thinking either a 5min close back within the IB to keep the R:R strong balanced with waiting for a break(close) of 5min structure which will decrease the R:R but possibly increase the win rate..

Here is a run down of what I look for

And yes, I got stopped out

Inserted Video

A defined level rejection means I am willing to put the SL very tight above the rejection candle.

Wherever you put your SL it doesn't really matter. If the algo's want to grab some liquidity they will and if your stop loss is there, you become the liquidity. Doesn't mean your idea is wrong, so if you can afford to take another attempt, I would. As long as the set up still works in terms of Risk:Reward. I try and scale out of the trades, so taking a full SL on 3 positions requires me to have much larger rewards in comparison to my risks. 1:2 wouldn't work really, so I am more like 1:10

No worries, I am finding that I am taking more of the same types of trades. So, the plan is becoming more solidified and becoming more robust. Though I still haven't found a way to nail it to being mechanical and therefore algo ready.
There are so many working parts that I am trying to distil into just the essentials. I'll keep posting

Unfortunately the London close and a round number proved too sticky

Will wait and see if they do a retest of the breakout level

This week will be particularly rubbish because of the amount of Fed speakers etc.

I agree about the single prints below and these are the levels I am looking at above. Merging overlapping value area TPO sessions shows where the key levels could be (to avoid or target)

not sure I would have taken this trade with a mini, let alone 3 mini's.
The reason being the stop loss would have been under the breakout candle, the Take profit was 1:1 risk:reward , so hardly a great idea. One to mull over and keep an eye on should it happen more often.

I try and record my morning prep, post it to Youtube as a way of keeping a journal and to also say stuff out loud and process what I am seeing, rather than what I am thinking.
Sometimes it helps

Basically I am looking for a continuation long for NQ today 17-11-21
