I think that if a person has the time and the desire to find out the truth(?), then sure, take in many sources. But sources should be vetted, and many news sites are funded by groups that understand the power of digital marketing in the political space.

I'm glad you admitted the truth. You only intend to insult.

I didn't demand an apology for myself (go back and read that post).

The self righteousness I speak of is that which comes from an individual who has been a member of FF since Oct 2021 with less than 100 posts and is demanding adherence to a "trading only discussion" in a thread with a rich history of discussion often minimally related to trading.

Your apology is accepted and I do see how you likely did not intend to smear nursing in general.

If you want to belittle me then go ahead. My intentions are noble and do not stem from self recognition. It is a sincere attempt to reveal the other side of the Covid debate. Making that statement is not an invitation to debate you on it as you insist.

You're right, I'm looking for a debate, just not from you. For the most part I've engaged you to point out your predilection to ridicule and profane others. It's why you made the unintentional statement about nursing. It's just your nature.

Yes, we've already gone over me being self-righteous. I'm okay with that and I'm 100% aware of my green status in FF. This has no bearing on what i'm insulting you for or what I've been asking you to do.

What is "far right"? What is "questionable" about them? Inflammatory? Why? Because you disagree which is ok but being unable to articulate your position you ridicule and profane. Anyone is free to post their own sources and freely engage in discourse. What's wrong with that? I clearly stated my intention but let me clearly do so here so you don't have to make up my intentions for me:

I intend to illuminate an increasingly less-suppressed truth about Covid, the mandates, lockdowns and other related issues.

Many, not all of my posts, have links to studies or news article supporting my assertions. Others are free to disagree and post material supporting their views. I will never smear, besmirch, profane, nor make fun of anyone posting their views. I will engage in discussion and passionately express my agreement or disagreement. If you think I do this to inflate my ego then so be it.

Finally let me highlight what you said in your reply to me:

As with any profession there will be exceptions. Yet you have again targeted nurses so profoundly stated and now highlighted for everyones review.

Your apology is rejected because you in fact are not sincere. You are a bigot to the core. Your thanks for my service is rejected because again you do not mean it.

I'm glad you are choosing to exit the conversation because you really should. I hope you do some serious soul searching.

As a registered nurse manager at a facility here in the United States, I have the experience to share. We recently had a teammate of ours test positive for covid 19 with symptoms including loss of taste and smell. We had to do a facility-wide COVID-19 protocol to rule out any more cases. What needs to be shared is that my facility has a greater than 90% vaccination rate. We did not threaten to fire anyone, but we did "encourage" them. As a nurse yourself, you know there are many ways to encourage compliance, and I regret my participation in that decision. And yet, one of our teammates contracted the virus. This, of course, is very concerning to the medical community and is being underreported, I believe. The concern is now there could be people walking around with Covid 19, but because of the vaccine, the symptoms would be suppressed to the point of being asymptomatic. I'm not sure what is going on, but something is definitely going on.

In science, there is no such thing as far right and far left. There is only sourced and peer reviewed. There is nothing political about virology itself. How people respond to the information is what is political. Insomuch as trading is concerned, a point comes when competency is achieved, and there is not much to do but wait for your set up. That is why people come to the factory, mainly to pass the time.

I agree, mate. Science has no political agenda. But when a nurse practitioner with a tendency to condescend posts an article about COVID that is neither well-sourced nor peer reviewed, then I believe I'm allowed to be concerned. Anyway I've stopped engaging with the nurse, even deleted my most recent post. There's no point in wasting the good nurse's energy.

While it may seem I am "anti-vax" I am not. I am anti-vax-mandate to my very core because such a medically required invasive procedure should never be mandated as a contingency of employment or continued employment. Everyone should be educated regarding the facts and this is not being truthfully done.

Influenza has and will likely remain the recent record holder for deaths. Just do a quick search for deaths over the last 20 years and you'll see what I mean. Most hospitals want their employees vaccinated for the Flu but those who refuse vaccination are not fired. They do have to take precautions during flu season that the vaccinated do not have to (even thought the flu vaccine never covers all flu variants).

The vast majority of individuals who contract Covid will be asymptomatic or mildly symptomatic. The very old and those with serious comorbidities are at more risk for death and hospitalization. This is undisputed fact.

The vaccinated are not immune to covid and also spread the disease. This is also undisputed fact.

There are therapeutics such as hydroxychloroquine, ivermectin, azithromycin, dexamethasone, zinc, vitamin D and others that when used as part of a protocol of which several have been thoroughly studied and absolutely proven to be effective in preventing hospitalizations and death especially when begun early in the disease. This is knowledge that has been suppressed or censored but is now getting out there. It is readily available to anyone by doing a simple search.

My unvaccinated grandson contracted covid and was completely asymptomatic. He now has natural immunity. He'll never be vaccinated with a poorly studied vaccine that has a tendency to cause myocarditis in children of his age.

The vaccine is not preventing spread. There are significant numbers of deaths occurring in the vaccinated.

Get your facts straight friend. I never condescended anyone's. Disagreement is not condescension.

News articles are submitted by journalists and are generally not peer reviewed. By their very nature they also tend not to be well-sourced although many are. This does not mean that the information in them is false. One has the right to agree or disagree with it. To say such articles are flat out unworthy of any consideration is in effect a censorship.

The studies I have posted in some of my posts are absolutely peer reviewed. The methodology employed in a RCT (randomized controlled trial), observational study or otherwise reveals it's validity. So just because it is an RCT doesn't make it a good study. One needs to understand the methodology underlying the results and conclusions.

You've engaged me in a passive aggressive manner. It's cowardly but I will respond accordingly.

Why couldn't you withstand the academic rigors of virology or medicine? Huh? Kindly remind yourself that your opinion as a nurse is less valuable than that of virologists and doctors. I brought up the nurse issue, which you so slovenly like to reference, because nurses with big egos get people killed. Death remains the most common patient injury that results in a lawsuit. It accounts for 44.3% all malpractice claims against nurses. I know nurses like that, nurses like you. Slow to admit your wrongs.

Now listen, and I 100% mean this unironically, you make a ton of sense when you're not defending your bullshit attitude. I learned a lot from your last post about the effectiveness of certain therapies in preventing hospitalization, and I'm now encouraged to read more about it. I also stumbled upon your Basics thread when I first joined FF, and it was incredibly helpful to me during my first few days of trading. You're better off speaking as a knowledgeable trader and/or medical professional, instead of posting those shit articles from conservative news sites.

how does one vett such a site? one either has a brian for thinking or following. that is the issue with non-msm outlets, they are not oligarch/government vetted so you can any opinion. there are plently of sites that are not worth reading becuase they make their living selling hyperpole. but those are easy to see and you move on.

It is indeed tricky when it comes to outlets beyond the mainstream eye, though I don't think its as simple as thinking vs following. News organizations are still companies, owned or controlled by people with vested interests. Either follow the money or dig into the reporter compiling the data/information for public consumption. Last step would be confirming the report via cross-examination with other news outlets and their coverage of the event.

Personally, I really like The Associated Press as my first-read news outlet. Its a long-running, well-pedigreed, independent news organization with 50+ Pulitzer Prizes to its name. It's not a singular entity but a kind of ensemble organization with journalists from different organizations in various parts of the world. Because of this, I feel like they may have less political influencers hovering over their publishing decisions. They claim a factual process, but I still take that with a small lick of salt regardless of their track record. Decent stuff!
