{quote} Dear Laura, I painstakingly tried several twists and kinks to Daylight and I think I have come up with something workable. it just beats your current settings with entries and exits. I didnt cherry pick this chart, Its just the same thing over and over again in my backtests. Have a look at it and let us have your view please. Attached is GBP/CHF H1 of now {image}

It seems that jamzzz's settings were:
Hull MA 21 (close), EMA 5 (applied to Hull 21).
And for oscillator: Hull 18 (applied to Williams%R 14) and SMMA 4 (applied to Hull 18).

As I am also using cTrader I managed to get very close picture to his picture.

Thanks, I just opened CTrader account, does Hull MA is a custom indicator in there? Do I need to purchase it to use from their desktop/web app?
I couldn't get a working Hull MA for MT4 which can be applied to Williams%R as well

It is in the desktop version of cTrader. You have to install it on your computer. Web-version does not contain it. And you can't apply any indicator to some other indicator in web-version as well. Only to open/close/high/low.

Thanks,

I have both indicator atatched here. I get the first one (Hull Moving Average.mql4) from MQL5 website and I coded the second one myself (DaylightOscillatorHull.mql4) because the custom one from MQL5 website doesn't have ability to use WPR as the source of the Hull MA.

I hope this helps, cheers

EDIT: Screenshot from MT4 attached and updated the indicator. I see more similar result using slow 21 and fast 5, same WPR 14

Dear Laura,
Sorry for my late reply, I was so so busy. What I did is just simple, of all the moving averages the Hull moving average is the only one that has Zero lag.

I just swapped all the Moving averages with Hull. Simple!!!! Then just try a combination 21/29, 21/35, 21/31. I just use the same combo of Hull in the main chart and Daylight.

I hope my addition to Daylight will help!!!
Thanks Laura you are my hero!!!

Nice!!!!
So close though, what I used is in my previous post. I am trying to figure out how to deal with this update in very strong trends, and maybe refine the entries and exits.

Ah so all the MAs are Hull, then I need to update my script for this.

I might understood you wrong on your reply, so can you please clarify these:
- What period of MA are on the chart
- What period of WPR is on the sub window
- What period of MA are on the sub-window
- What divisor of Hull MA you use on all of them?

Thank you Laura, for an interesting approach to the use of indicators and the trading system.
I wrote an indicator for the test, it is not particularly fast, but it performs its task, displays arrows on the signals of two MA in the Williams indicator window.

It will not be a reliable filter in aggressive mode due to the shorter MA. {image}

So I've read the thread and now I'm reading it again and I just want to clarify. This sentence is no longer true right? It is a reliable filter in the aggressive mode because everyone is using it now.
