So it looks like the USA goes to DST
at 2:00 a.m. on the second Sunday in March (11 March 2007), so this means we put our clocks ahead 1 hour, effectivly turning Eastern Standard time to GMT -4. However in the European Union, Summer Time begins the last Sunday in March (25 March 2007) at 1:00 a.m. Universal Time (Greenwich Mean Time), so at this time then we EST goest back to GMT-5.

Wondering if anyone can confirm that this is correct?

I suppose that depending on your broker, you also may experience some offest in your clocks over the period of time that DST goes into effect.

Best Regards,
Ah.

I'm no athority, just knowing from times past.

When the US EST time changes time to Daylight time it will change to GMT -4 and stay there until it changes back in the fall. GMT time does not change for US or EURO time changes. The Euro time change will not change the US time any at all with relation to GMT. Will only change the gap between London/Euro open times and the US time zones. Hope this clarifies some! Paul

People invented the clock to keep time..

Now people invented DST to time out of the day.

Next time, people might invent "Moonlight saving time" to keep the "night live" activity and "night economy" going.

You are correct that DST starts 2nd Sunday in March as opposed to old way which was 1st Sunday in April. DST will end 1st Sunday of November instead of last Sunday of October. For those of us affected in USA, Microsoft has a patch for this. Don't they always. Patch this, patch that, crap.
