This reminds me of my Martial Art days, I practiced Wing Chun which Bruce also studied at one point. Made some notes a while ago. Of all the things we practiced our stance was the most important, my instructor also studied Pencak Silat and spent months on the floor just learning how to use the ground, before even learning to stand up. Having a good base is 80% of the job if you know how to use it - same as in trading.

Wing Chun Notes:
Stance is very important, it helps you to stay balanced and move/attack without overcommitment. It also helps to prevent your opponent pulling you.
A stance is a base from which to deliver power, using structural alignment combined with targeting skills.
The stance should be strong in both directions, so it is important to aim it correctly. In one direction it is a base for taking profit, in the other direction it is for protection, limiting damage. Using S&R means aiming the stance correctly, finding a strong base before entering the trade, waiting for price to move away from it first and then retesting it. If the level holds the base is strong and a trade can be made.

It is important to be able to hit without overcommitting. All movement must germinate from the stance. The stance also acts as a brake. The strength of any position depends to a large extent on the stability of the stance. Without a strong stance we do not have a solid base to hit from.

The power of a trade relies on the acceleration of price (outside of your control), the weight of buyers and sellers (outside of your control), structural alignment and strength/position size.

Weight cannot be changed, nor can speed. Strength can be developed, with correct money management. But technique can be improved dramatically by understanding where power comes from in the stance. The ability to trade effectively comes from the base because we ‘push’ against it with our position, in the direction of the trend.

Basic training:
How much force can your stance absorb?
If the market was to push against your stance, how quickly would it collapse?
A good position will absorb force like a spring, and spring forward when released.
If the stance starts to collapse, release the pressure. If it must collapse, let it collapse.

Direction of Intent:
An imaginary line between your base and your target.
The shortest distance from A to B
This line is used to detect and interpret market forces in order to feel which action is appropriate. If the line is occupied, this forces you to attack down a longer path, in this situation, the only course of action is for you to force a trade.
It is desirable to use this line effectively.
If we do not have a clear line down which to aim, from our base to our target, it is easy for the market to pivot and dissipate or return our position, this often happens when entering a trade in the middle of a range. When we attack from a strong base with a clear path to our target, the pivots have less effect and should not threaten our position.

Triangulation:
Triangles are both strong and easy to understand. ABC pattern is a fundamental building block of price action.

Efficiency:
The aim is to be as efficient as possible, achieving the best results with the minimum of effort.
To this end it is necessary to be relaxed when in a position, or thinking about taking a position: this will enable you to change in a fast yet fluid way.
Tension is introduced only momentarily, on the initiation of a position or on arrival at a specific position; a profit target or stop loss. Once a trade is over, it is important to return to a relaxed state immediately, thus allowing further movement.
Trades must be sent forward in a non-committed and relaxed way; as soon as the trade deviates from the target, it must be changed. Do not try to force a line, instead adjust the setup or modify the active position. The fact that the trade did not get through should indicate that a change is due.
Other advantages of staying relaxed include being more likely to use the correct tools and less likely to suffer from fatigue; this in turn allows you to enjoy trading for longer periods of time.

Skill is down to correct structure, using tools efficiently and planning the whole trade so as to move with the idea or change it.
Position of the trade, in alignment with the base or market structure, helps to achieve a clean transfer of energy, from open to close. The efficient use of tools, structure and angles must be studied and used in every action. Relaxation means you are emotionally stronger and less constrained in your trades. It allows you to be sensitive to gaps in the market, letting the market show you how to trade it.

Simultaneous Attack and Defence:
Simultaneous attack and defence means we are not only trading the market but defending ourselves at the same time. Our trade is serving two purposes at once.
By focusing on our line of intent, from a strong base, rather than chasing the hands of the market, it is possible to both launch a position and defend at the same time, using the base as a brake behind which we place our stop loss. Using stance, rather than desperately clinging on to positions within the area price is ranging, will help us to establish a position and be relaxed. This is because we are engaging the larger and stronger areas of structure, levels of support and resistance, as opposed to smaller, weaker areas and patterns between these zones.

Simplicity:
Rather than employ a great amount of different techniques, strive to understand thoroughly the variety of ways in which a few simple techniques can be adapted to many different situations.

GU seems to have capped off at yesterdays high though, I feel once DXY starts retracing GU will drop, we may just be wiping the previous low on DXY. Not certain though.
