Hey folks,

we have another naysayer to BigE’s TMS 5-method, in this TMS 5-method trading system thread

We have seen a couple others always say the TDI doesn’t work, etc.

The problem is we haven’t seen those traders practice the actual TMS system!

Instead we see traders adding indicators, introducing gambling EAs, going against rules of TMS as mentioned by BigE. They took a wrong detour in their trading development, eventually blew their accounts, then come back and naysaying.

Those toxic persons dump negativities to this thread daily, and post empty charts...
They must be very unhappy person in their life

IF you are meticulous and observant, then that 2scoops post which you copied and pasted here with TMS_V14 is not the correct version to use. I only use TMS_V19 here.
2scoops did not learn how to set up TMS_V14 for trading Big E 5-Method and that version was still under development in Sep 2011.
The final version is TMS_V22 and the version to use for Big E' 5-Method is V19.

From his posts in the SteveHopwood' thread, it shows that 2scoop did not fully understood all the trading rules which Big E posted in this thread. He missed many key posts and important rules, starting with Post#1. He obviously missed Post#5 and mixed other rules from other systems/methods.

One other very important Big E post is #296 in Forex Factory.

I have been burned once in a while however, most of the time it was my fault for reading the market incorrectly.

Learn to tweek your strategy to stay up with changing market conditions. If your mentally burned out, take a week off.

Take your time to learn how to trade. Newbies want to trade live right off the bat... and I thank you for all those pips you paid for... that I get to keep. Take the time to enjoy the learning experience. There is no hurry... only in your mind.

I profit every day by using Stochastics. I hope you will too. It's just part of the puzzle.

Use only TMS_V19 ...(version 19) its an Information EA .. not a auto-trading robot.
Use it only for trade setup conditions alerts only when you are trading several pairs.
If you only trade one currency pair, do you want to use it for alerts? It's up to you.

My conclusion:

Too much time is being spent on TDI and Stochastics,
Too little time on Price Action and Support/Resistance.
And no time spend on Money Management, Risk Management for entries and exits, When to Cut-Losses short and How to Let Profits Run.

2scoops asked me a long time ago what would be the most beneficial to learning this method for higher success... The answer was simple... study old charts for set ups... now strip down everything on that chart at that point... trends, angles, S/R levels, News times, Stoch angle within the 20-80 lines..etc. Burn it into your memory... I spent 2 years doing that.... so what does that mean?

It takes me 15 seconds to strip a chart down to nothing including the TDI & Stoch's. Taking clean trades is a breeze for me... why?

I can take you to water but I can't make you drink... follow the simple entry & exit rules. Forget other indicators. I went down those roads so you wouldn't have too...

There is a handful who trade it correctly here who are rewarded nicely...

Is all about forex basics....

When wanting to enter a TDI trade... take a moment first to observe basic 4x things... like:

How close am I to the previous high or lo

Am I in an uptrend or downtrend.. short & long term...

Am I in or close to a consolidation area

Are the previous candles small...

Look at the candles on the last reversal... big, little, what

How does the momentum look right now (12-2, 4-6)

Does Stoch's confirm the TDI signal

Sounds like a lot of stuff but it's basic stuff and only takes a moment to observe it...

If you don't already know these things... don't trade live yet... www.babypips.com is a good place to learn about the basics of trading 4X.

One of the reason why failed traders naysaying about BigE’s TMS system, while they are not trading the TMS rules, can be because they are not focused.
Their failure are warning to others.

Experts with a certain skill are experts, because they FOCUS on perfection of one skill or strategy they are good at.

Compared with learning EVERYTHING, learning ONE THING (ie BigE’s original TMS) helps with your learning process and increase efficiency

Go through all of BigE’s posts and digest the information. Practice the TMS at its simplest form. Get your results after a number of trades.

No one will stop you from switching and tweaking your own trading strategy, but others will appreciate your donation to the market.

Follow the simples rules of Trading Made Simple. Trading is not easy but if you are focused you will get there.

Introduction to Trading Made Simple aka TMS

To learn what Trading Made Simple is, you have to follow the trading journey of the OP eelfranz aka Big E. He started in FF as a newbie in 2008.
Know the TMS history and you will learn a lot from the OP and when you have mastered his 5-Method, you can then move on and develop your own trading system following how he did his. Many traders have moved on to trade their own systems.

When you are overwhelmed (information overload) by the number of posts and the loads of information and variations shared by other traders here, the best thing to do is to stop reading and go back to the basics what Big E mentioned in his 463 posts in this thread and 861 posts in the CHS thread. First you learn and master the 5-Method first before you start add your own tweaks and make a new system.

Recommendations:
Read all of Big E posts... 861posts in the Craig Harris Stochastics thread and 463 posts in this TMS thread....and make notes on those training charts he posted. Pay attention whenever he mentioned PA and what you see on his training charts.

Learn the basic stuff about forex trading first. A good place to start is www.babypips.com/school

If you want to trade the way Big E described in Post#1, make sure you use his template , the Synergy APB / HA candles and use that TDI Red Green version. These are in Post#25.

Important to Note that the TDI Red Green version repaints all the bars in history so you cannot use this when you do back-testing by scrolling back your charts. The better way is to run this in live market and trade the TMS setups based on what you see without refreshing your charts. When you want to trade with entries on the APB#1 and APB#2 candles, always wait for the price bar/candle to close and use the TDI to confirm the setup.

Big E was a rule-based discretionary trader. According to studies by Dr Van K Tharp this rule-based discretionary are the best traders,

Good to see that you are asking questions. But you have plenty of material about BigE's 5-method to learn without worrying about Deep Practice. Your time would be better spent trying to learn what BigE presented about his 5-method and then applying that in a demo account until you can achieve that 65% beginner's success rate. Only then should you attempt to do live trading.

You are all the time coming back to the beginner win-rate of 65%. I have seen one member with over 80% win-rate in this thread and he still losing money

Starting out you should be 60-65% successful. Within 1 to two months you should be 70-80% successful.. IF... you follow the simple rules and simple exits... 3-6 months... 85% successful. Don't complicate it... keep it simple. Buy your wheel barrow..

I never knownly take a draw back of 40-50 pips even on the 4hr. I generally exit at 10-15 pips to keep my profit and I'll re-enter when it turns back. If it happens when I'M SLEEPING... SO WHAT ... I never know about it... S/L at last HH or LL. It turns out in my favor most of the time. I lose about 2 trades out of 14-16 trades. I can live with that. I choose my trades carefully making sure they meet the entry rules spot on... and pass on the iffy ones and go hunt other charts.

In first part of the post he stated that a beginner should be 60-65% and after 3-6 months it should be 85%.

When I tested by cutting losers early and re-enter my win-rate was low (62%), but my draw-down after 50 trades was less than the risk for one trade (draw-down: 1.57%, risk per trade 2%) . I used a large stop-loss like BigE. My average winners was much larger than the average losers. My profit-factor was 9.8. I know this is a test and not real trading but it shows that win-rate is not important at all. For those that are interested here is the statistic for the back-test:
